Opening a French-themed bistro called Unbaguettable on a major motorway was a bad idea, people wanted fast food, not snails!
Things went badly, he should have seen the writing on the wall. But no, Peter, or Pierre as he likes to be known, was certain that in time it would be a success.
The French accent he adopted gave people the crêpes and the menu was unreadable so it was only a matter of time before il a fermé!
He’s thinking of relaunching as an Italian trattoria called Foccalicious, hoping people won’t drive past-a!
Best of luck with that Pedro!

I’m heading up North on Thursday to attend a concert by the André Rieu Orchestra and won’t be back until late Friday, so I may not have a chance to visit your blog until the weekend, but don’t think I’ve forgotten you!

Got to love his optimism
Definitely a glass almost half full kinda guy!
The photo itself is intriguing: a graffiti artist’s dream! Your graphics are delightful as always. Location is everything; Peter’s restaurant names would appeal to tourists in an allée de Paris. I like Foccalicious — go for it Pedro! But over here when we hear Pedro we think of enchiladas. 🙂
Thanks, Christine – you got me Googling Pedro’s, now I know!
Dear Keith,
What a delightful stop for hot-crossed puns. I enjoyed coming along for the read. Well done.
Shalom,
Rochelle
Hot-crossed puns indeed, now you are at it! Thanks so much, Rochelle.
Haha! Love the world play.
* word
Thanks for your kind worlds Sadje!!!
Lol! It’s not me, it’s my phone 😂
So many puns and so little time 🤣
Puns are fun, the more the better! Cheers, Annalisa.
Awesome…I would certainly drive past-a place called “Foccalicious!” Great story. You are the master of the pun.
I think I would too! Thanks so much, Suzette.
My pleasure Keith.
Enjoy Andre. I enjoy his concerts on our local PBS.
Thanks, Denise, I’ve been wanting to see him for years! My 3 kids have paid for the train journey, hotel and the concert ticket!
A very punny post, Keith, with an international flair. We’ll done.
Hee-haw-hee-haw!. Cheers Fandango!
Adorable, you are a master of the art Keith.
That’s really nice of you Iain, thanks so much!
I felt for Pedro, life is going to be hard boiled for him
I’m sure you’re right Michael!
Very nice tale. I like how his accent “gave people the crêpes”. 🙂
Thanks so much Frank1
Such fun wordplay. Have fun at your concert!
Thanks, Lisa, I’m back and I had the experience of a lifetime!
You’re very welcome and glad you did.
Very clever all the way around!
Thanks so much, Mimi!
That was a fun read Keith, thanks!
Thanks to you, I’m so pleased you liked it.
Well done. While determination is admirable, stubborn foolishness only works in your stories, Keith.
I’m on the side of those that try! Cheers, Bill.
Poor Pedro! See my post.
Two Pedro’s, who’d have thought it!
Ha! Lots of fun. Peter should give up the restaurant business and become a writer.
…now that’s a thought ,but with a pen not a can of spray paint! Thanks, Margaret.
Rats, I would have loved to visit Unbaguettable! Thoroughly enjoyed this.
You wouldn’t have had to wait for a table! Thanks so much, Patricia
Unbaguetteable!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I used to run a bistro, I wish I’d come up with that name back then!
Hee, fun word-play 🙂
I have lots of fun writing it, glad it came off! Cheers, Ali.
he never gives up doesn’t he? best of luck to him. 🙂
That’s the way some are! Cheer plaridel.
Great idea, if only he spoke the same food language as his potential customers.
It seemed a good idea at the time! Perhaps he should have called it Food Stop!
So many polyglottal puns! You had me grinning from unbaguettable all the way to Pedro. Wonderful story, Keith!
I’m really pleased, thanks so much, Penny!
This line was awesome. “The French accent he adopted gave people the crêpes” The rest of the story is good as well, but that line got me.
That’s such a funny FF, love the name unbaguetteable, (scuse the spelling) made me chuckle
Thanks for the laugh, mon ami 🙂
This was SO much fun, wonderful. I think I would have stopped at the Unbaguettable…
I loved all the food references, especially crepes for creeps.
