‘Holy moly’ said the angel, ‘what a mess. You cherubs will be the death of me, or someone else if they trip on that Lego you’ve abandoned everywhere.
Imagine a poor soul earning a place in Paradise, making it all the way to the Golden Gate only to stumble on the Stairway to Heaven on your little plastic bricks.
I mean, dying once is bad enough, but tripping up, falling down and dying again is not fair.
Oh, I don’t believe it, now look what the cat’s left on the mat!
Get this place cleared up before the Boss sees it’.

Thanks to Rochelle for hosting and to Jennifer Pendergast for the photo.

Any resemblance to one of one of Edith Vonnegut’s paintings is purely coincidental!

Deadly weapons! 😂
Who’d have known it? cheers Paula
Thanks for the chuckles. I can just picture the scene, too. 🙂 <3 Have a great week!
Thanks for chuckling! You too, Bear.
Haha! Great take.
Thanks, Sadje.
You’re welcome my friend
They may need to draft in some of those waiting in limbo to keep the place clean
What a good idea! Cheers, Neil.
haha! Nice one, Keith.
Pleased you liked it Mason, thank you.
Haha! Sort of comforting to know the cherubs are just as mischievous as the living children.
Love your frog! How uncanny that you have accidentally (on purpose) been inspired by Edith’s image!
I’m sure they are, they’re only kids with wings after all! Are you accusing me of plagiarism? Okay, I copied it!
That does make total sense. And no! I would never… 😇😇
Ah, the joys of parenting! I have to wear shoes even indoors, but my husband definitely has his fair share of foot-spikings!
It certainly can be painful, I remember it well!
Ha! Suitably sardonic there….well-writen with a bite…
I like that, thank you Ain!
Who wants to die twice.
We live only once and better to try to live clutter-free 🙂 Being a parent is tough! Imagine having to clear the place all the time!
Being an angel and a mum must be tougher! Cheers Anita.
Seems you can’t get the staff anywhere these days!
A shortage of workers in heaven too! Cheers Iain.
Clever take!
Thanks so much, Trish.
My family room floor is always littered with legos. I love my little cherubs.
Well worth the mess! Cheers, Denise.
Pre Lego, I used cotton reels, they made great forts, which later kept the fire roaring, thanks for the memories
Now that’s clever! Thanks, Michael.
There are days when I wish my floor was scattered with Lego by the kids, but they’re all grown up and with kids of their own. And what the cats bring in is really not much consolation. A sigh and several smiles, Keith, for a good story.
Mine too so I know exactly how you feel Penny, both the Lego and feline inconveniences!
Yep. Making someone step on a left-out Lego should be seen as a cookie-denying offense. Also, best get it cleared up before the Boss comes home. 😉
Absolutely, even more so in heaven! Cheers Na’ama.
Ha!
Funny, but I looked at the picture a bunch of times before reading your post but I didn’t notice what looks like cat poop until you mentioned it! 🤷🏻♂️
I’m beginning to wonder what seeing that first says about me! Cheers Fandango.
I always knew it was a test. Well done, Keith.
Now you know Bill!
Indeed, I do.
Heeheehee!
That’ll do nicely!
Make sure no brick is left out. They always end up in hard to reach/see places.
True, and they often appear in the most unlikely places too!
A very cute story, Keith. Made me smile. I remember (many years ago) painfully stepping on my son’s Legos, hobbling away to fuss at him. Now, I wish for those days. 🙂
Oh, I’ve done that – ouch! Funny, the things we miss!
Dear Keith,
How delightful to hear you read! And those Legos can be foot-defying weapons, can’t they? Fun story and need I say how creative your frogs are?
Shalom,
Rochelle
They can, in heaven or on earth! I had fun with my frogs this week, I’m chuffed you liked them, Rochelle!
Lego Shmego. I’m delighted to read that there are cats in heaven! Maybe I’d want to go there after all… (Great fun, great story, great frogs and I love the inspirational picture, too).
Cats get everywhere! Thanks for your lovely comment, makes it all worthwhile.
Remind me to die with my shoes on – stepping barefoot on Lego is horrible!
Haha, you’d be very wise to! Cheers, Elizabeth.
And this is heaven?! But I’m grinning from ear to ear! And the graphics are extra fun, Keith.
pax,
dora
I’m not sure but I’d like to think so! Thanks so much, Dora.
There were kids in my house earlier this year. I am still finding sharp little legos embedded in the carpet. Ouch. Interesting to learn that the stairway to heaven is littered with legos as well.
They get everywhere, you’ll be finding pieces for ages I’m sure!
such a trip. you did it again. 🙂
Not the kind of trip I like! Thanks so much, plaridel.
Guess the line about legos on the stairway to heaven got edited out of the Led Zepplin song.
That did run through my mind when I wrote it! Cheers, Lorraine.
I thought it might have.
Wonderful response.
Thank you so much Susan.
No, Mr Satan, sir, I was supposed to be in Heaven, honest, but there was this little plastic brick on the Stairs and I fell down here…
Not sure Mr S will believe him. Ans so life of being good comes to nothing! Cheers Ali.
Naughty cherubs!
I know, but kids will be kids, cherubs or not!
What a great image ! Stairs fill with trips of temptation
I feel a very anti-LEGO, anti-feline vibe from this post… Just kidding. Fun story!
Many a lego have been the death of me! LOL Cute story, Keith!
