One hundred words …

‘Holy moly’ said the angel,  ‘what a mess. You cherubs will be the death of me, or someone else if they trip on that Lego you’ve abandoned everywhere.

Imagine a poor soul earning a place in Paradise, making it all the way to the Golden Gate only to stumble on the Stairway to Heaven on your little plastic bricks.

I mean, dying once is bad enough, but tripping up, falling down and dying again is not fair.

Oh, I don’t believe it, now look what the cat’s left on the mat!

Get this place cleared up before the Boss sees it’.

Thanks for the chuckles. I can just picture the scene, too. 🙂 <3 Have a great week!

        You’re welcome my friend

They may need to draft in some of those waiting in limbo to keep the place clean

  4. Dale's avatar Dale November 3, 2021 / 15:35

Haha! Sort of comforting to know the cherubs are just as mischievous as the living children.
Love your frog! How uncanny that you have accidentally (on purpose) been inspired by Edith’s image!

I’m sure they are, they’re only kids with wings after all! Are you accusing me of plagiarism? Okay, I copied it!

      • Dale's avatar Dale November 3, 2021 / 18:45

That does make total sense. And no! I would never… 😇😇

Ah, the joys of parenting! I have to wear shoes even indoors, but my husband definitely has his fair share of foot-spikings!

It certainly can be painful, I remember it well!

    Who wants to die twice.
We live only once and better to try to live clutter-free 🙂 Being a parent is tough! Imagine having to clear the place all the time!

    • Keith's Ramblings's avatar Keith's Ramblings November 4, 2021 / 10:48

Being an angel and a mum must be tougher! Cheers Anita.

Seems you can’t get the staff anywhere these days!

A shortage of workers in heaven too! Cheers Iain.

My family room floor is always littered with legos. I love my little cherubs.

  10. Michael's avatar Michael November 3, 2021 / 20:38

Pre Lego, I used cotton reels, they made great forts, which later kept the fire roaring, thanks for the memories

  11. pennygadd51's avatar pennygadd51 November 3, 2021 / 20:38

There are days when I wish my floor was scattered with Lego by the kids, but they’re all grown up and with kids of their own. And what the cats bring in is really not much consolation. A sigh and several smiles, Keith, for a good story.

    • Keith's Ramblings's avatar Keith's Ramblings November 4, 2021 / 12:27

Mine too so I know exactly how you feel Penny, both the Lego and feline inconveniences!

  12. Na'ama Yehuda's avatar Na'ama Yehuda November 3, 2021 / 21:05

Yep. Making someone step on a left-out Lego should be seen as a cookie-denying offense. Also, best get it cleared up before the Boss comes home. 😉

Funny, but I looked at the picture a bunch of times before reading your post but I didn’t notice what looks like cat poop until you mentioned it! 🤷🏻‍♂️

    • Keith's Ramblings's avatar Keith's Ramblings November 4, 2021 / 12:56

I’m beginning to wonder what seeing that first says about me! Cheers Fandango.

Make sure no brick is left out. They always end up in hard to reach/see places.

    • Keith's Ramblings's avatar Keith's Ramblings November 4, 2021 / 13:21

True, and they often appear in the most unlikely places too!

  16. Brenda's Thoughts's avatar Brenda's Thoughts November 4, 2021 / 10:09

A very cute story, Keith. Made me smile. I remember (many years ago) painfully stepping on my son’s Legos, hobbling away to fuss at him. Now, I wish for those days. 🙂

    • Keith's Ramblings's avatar Keith's Ramblings November 4, 2021 / 13:25

Oh, I’ve done that – ouch! Funny, the things we miss!

    Dear Keith,

How delightful to hear you read! And those Legos can be foot-defying weapons, can’t they? Fun story and need I say how creative your frogs are?

    Shalom,

    Rochelle

    • Keith's Ramblings's avatar Keith's Ramblings November 4, 2021 / 14:42

They can, in heaven or on earth! I had fun with my frogs this week, I’m chuffed you liked them, Rochelle!

  18. GHLearner's avatar GHLearner November 4, 2021 / 14:12

Lego Shmego. I’m delighted to read that there are cats in heaven! Maybe I’d want to go there after all… (Great fun, great story, great frogs and I love the inspirational picture, too).

    • Keith's Ramblings's avatar Keith's Ramblings November 5, 2021 / 12:17

Haha, you’d be very wise to! Cheers, Elizabeth.

There were kids in my house earlier this year. I am still finding sharp little legos embedded in the carpet. Ouch. Interesting to learn that the stairway to heaven is littered with legos as well.

    • Keith's Ramblings's avatar Keith's Ramblings November 5, 2021 / 11:59

They get everywhere, you’ll be finding pieces for ages I’m sure!

  23. Lorraine's avatar Lorraine November 5, 2021 / 05:35

Guess the line about legos on the stairway to heaven got edited out of the Led Zepplin song.

    • Keith's Ramblings's avatar Keith's Ramblings November 5, 2021 / 11:45

That did run through my mind when I wrote it! Cheers, Lorraine.

No, Mr Satan, sir, I was supposed to be in Heaven, honest, but there was this little plastic brick on the Stairs and I fell down here…
