00Little Max climbed onto a stool to reach the tin, took out took out a couple of biscuits covered in chocolate buttons and put them in his pocket for the journey, for Max was going to explore the jungle.

As there were probably some dangerous animals there he’d need a big stick to fend them off,  so he fetched a bamboo cane from the garden shed.

He remembered hearing something about rain in forests so he’d need his boots to keep his feet dry, and in case it was hot he’d better borrow that paper fan that Mummy bought back from Spain last year.

All he needed now was a fellow traveller but sister Sophie was a bit too grown up and always laughed when he planned his adventures, but Eddy the teddy hadn’t been out the house for ages so he decided to take him.

Max wasn’t quite sure which way the jungle was, but it was probably beyond the fence at the bottom of the garden among those trees that always looked dark and mysterious.

“I thought we could all go to play on the swings and get an ice cream”  shouted Daddy from the window and suddenly all thoughts of a trip to the jungle were forgotten!

You have written it from a child’s perspective and it’s so sweet.

Back to safety! I was getting worried for Max and Eddy the Teddy in the jungle beyond the fence… Nice one, Keith.

Bugger. I was looking forward to the adventure in the jungle, with the possibility of Max playing Pooh sticks in a stream or finding Tigger.

Eddy is a great name for a Teddy Bear. I like how the jungle could be found where things are dark and mysterious.

Awww! What a great story. Yes, an adventure with Daddy is worth putting off getting out of the yard and possibly into trouble.

I love this! What’s funny is that I am doing a Rain Forest unit at preschool as we speak! Any one of those kiddos would give up an adventure for ice cream, too!

I like this story. Ice cream is more enticing than an adventure in the jungle. 🙂

The adventure will not go away. It’s simply on hold. And Eddy, can easily keep it a secret! Wonderful!

Lovely story. Reminds me of my youngest – he would have got into so much mischief when he was little if it weren’t for the temptation of ice-cream!
