or Six Sentence Stories where the given word is Net.
.

Natalie, known as Nat to her mates was fascinated by butterflies so she thought she’d catch a few, study them closely then let them go again.
Net in hand, she walked into the meadow and swiped it hither and thither, but to no avail as the winged wonders saw what was going on and kept well clear.
After an hour all she’d caught were some nits, a couple of spiders and a bumblebee.
Not one to admit defeat she thought she’d take one final massive sweep.
Unfortunately, it got caught in the branch of a hazel tree and that’s when she realised her idea was nuts!
It will always be remembered as the day nutty Nat’s net caught nits, not butterflies!

Thanks to GirlieOnTheEdge for hosting.

I love alliteration. Good job. Good six.
Me too! Thanks UP.
Great story about nit, but, not, net and nat.
I’ve got you started now!! Cheers Sadje.
Hahaha!
Oh those vowels! You’ve given a perfect example of why languages are hard to learn. Especially words with “i”, which foreigners will usually pronounce as “ee,.” like pick becoming peek. But English tongues have confused née and nue” a few times, too.
You make some very good points Christine. I can’t imagine having to learn English as a second language!
English grammar’s easy enough, they say…it’s the spelling that’s a knightmare. 😉
I no!
Good one, Keith! 😊
Thanks so much, Shweta.
You’re most welcome 🙂
Great word play, Keith. Love it.
I’m pleased! Thanks, Jenne.
Great fun, Keith. Completely nutty. To nit or not to net, nat is the question.
Haha, seems it’s catching! Cheers.
Very clever!
Thank Mimi!
I shall have to take Note of that. It’s worked for everyone from Knute Rockne to Newt Gingrich
They were Notorious! Cheers, Larry.
Humorous and clever. You never disappoint!
That’s really kind of you Susan, thank you.
So much fun! Although why did people ever catch butterflies with a net anyway? Doesn’t it damage their little wings and then they can’t fly and something comes along and eats them?
Thanks so much. I’ve often wondered that myself!
So creative and so silly…I love it!
We all need a bit of silliness now and again! Thanks, Liz.
This was so much fun to read. Thanks for bringing a little laughter to your readers. You just need someone to illustrate this one. It would be a cute little picture book for children and one the parents would enjoy reading to them and with them as the children quickly want to say tongue twisting last line.
Thanks so much for your generous words, Pat. I’m so pleased you enjoyed it.
Isn’t this why we just love language? Splendid Six, Keith!
Absolutely so Chris! Cheers.
