When Charlie was about four, he got some boxes and made his own drum set. I have a cute video of him playing. Not quite so loud as the real thing.

You surely had a lot of fun with that!! My son learns the keyboard, but most of the time he is experimenting with various tunes and notes and beats on the highest volume. It is just as harsh on our senses as a drum would be.
