‘It’s a roller coaster’ I said.
‘I know’ he groaned staring into his coffee.
‘What fun!’
‘Fun? Really?’
‘Yes!’
‘Maybe for you’ he moaned.
‘It’s exciting!’ I gushed.
‘Exciting?’
‘Of course!’
‘One day high, the next low’ he droned.
‘What are you talking about?’ I asked.
‘Life. Up, down, round and round’ he mumbled.
‘I’m not talking about life‘ I said, ‘I’m … just finish your coffee and come with me’.
‘Life’s like coffee. Sometimes hot. Sometimes cold. Sweet, bitter’.
I gave up and headed for the roller coaster on my own.
Up I shot, fantastic! Down I plunged, woo! Sideways, yea! Upsidedown, help!
Just like life I thought!

Thanks to Rochelle for hosting and to Roger Bultot for the picture.

A neat little tale — just been through one of those myself. And you’ve outdone yourself with the graphics today — your frog roller coaster would make a good book cover!
Hmm… Rosie Finds Her Prince? Or maybe something technical like, The Path to Financial Success?
Thanks so much, Christine. Now you’ve got me thinking! I wonder…..
And just like the stock market, too!
That’s true!
Dear Keith,
Once on the ride, he certainly waxed philosophical, didn’t he? Love the frog(s). So clever. Once more I leave your page smiling.
Shalom,
Rochelle
He did! I’m sure the frogs will be delighted with your comment! Thanks so much, Rochelle.
Very nice!
Cheers, Sadje!
👍
You took me on the rollercoaster of life. Well done
It’s more exciting than the circle of life! Thanks, Mike.
What an exciting life you lead, Keith
Indeed I do Neil!
Sometimes we can read to much into what people are saying! Good fun indeed Keith.
Very true Iain. Thanks so much.
Love the positive message in this, said in a very unique and fun way 🙂
I’m pleased! Thanks so much.
I love reading your Microtales Keith. They are so full of life!🙂👏
I totally agree Ramya… Keith never fails to make us smile 😀
That’s so kind of you Ramya and Nima, thank you.
Pleasure is all ours🙌
I really like how you wove the literal and the metaphorical together here. Nicely done. Fun froggie rollercoaster. I love literal rollercoasters!
…and I love your kind comment! Thank you so much.
You’re most welcome, Keith.
Wonderful! Roller coasters are fun, and so is life, although it can throw you for a loop sometimes.
It certainly can! Cheers, Mimi.
Life can be upside down crazy sometime, but also a lot of fun. Just like your stories, Keith!
Perfectly put Brenda, thank you.
At cross purposes and yet still on the same page. I smiled my way through this.
Absolutely! Thanks so much, Trish.
These guys are complete opposites but see things very similarly. Fun write!
They do but I know which one I’d rather be! Thanks Sascha
I don’t know which I look forward to most, your stories or your frogs.
Haha! Two for the price of one!
Such fun frogs!!!! Do you make them yourself?
Thanks so much. I do and they take longer to create than the story they accompany!
I love this! It sounds like a conversation I’ve had with my grown son many times 🙂
Me too Vicki! Thanks so much.
Two very different people.
Too right! Cheers Ali.
Good one Keith, and I love your froggy roller coaster 🙂
Thanks Linda – I’m not sure they do!
i love the metaphor. excellent writing as always. 🙂
That’s kind, thanks plaridel.
Funny how we can say the same thing but not hear each other.
Excellent write and great job on the frogs!
It happens! I’m not sure the frogs are too happy about it!
Let’s just hope they have strong stomachs!
Ribbit ribbit splatit!
Hahaha!
The real problem is derailing…
So true!
Wheee, eee, eee. What was in the coffee?
Sometimes sugar, sometimes not! Cheers James.
how nice and confusing it is that life can be like that
Indeed it is Larry!
Oh this is great. Life indeed. Up and down and try to hold onto your lunch!
Best ridden before lunch! Cheers Laurie.
Nicely plotted Keith, I like the exchange between the characters and the ending too, very well ended.
That’s kind of you, thanks so much.
Poor frogs lost their lunch.
I’ll take my life with extra stabelizers, thank you very much. No elective roller-coasters for me! 😉
I’m with you Na’ama! Cheers.
😀
Fun story! Short but full of fun characters. (Just like life… :p)
Thanks so much.
