A poem

for Sue Vincent’s #writephoto and Ragtag Daily Prompt both of which have Serenity as their given word.

.

She sits and stares

unfocused eyes swimming to the horizon

Gazing into infinity

.

No sign of tears

Her expressionless face an empty canvas

A sea of pallor

I look into her eyes

I see nothing but a swirling mist of grey

That sparkle gone

.

I try to ask her why

a cloud of despair envelopes her

She hears me not

.

But I will wait

I’ll stay by her side for as long as it takes

for her to return

.

But for now

she inhabits a sorrowful place of her own

Somewhere

.

I know not where.

Let me read it to you …

Sort of sad. Sounds like she is lost. Perhaps when the sun breaks through she will have a new outlook.

The words are soulful, each one seems to envelope with a sadness of its own.

I love the reading too – I’ve only seen this on two blogs before that’s yours Keith, and Willowdot’s above. I feel a new challenge about to emerge!
