One hundred words …

for Friday Fictioneers.

BGMy friend Rosey rushed into the pub with a big grin on her face.

‘Guess what?’ she shouted interrupting our conversation.

‘Guess!’  she squeaked hopping up and down.

‘Do tell us’  pleaded Sally,  ‘don’t keep us in suspenders!’

‘Drumroll please’  yelled Mike tapping his hands on the table.

‘Well … I just parked my car… between two others … perfectly!

‘Wow,’  I said remembering the time I tried guiding her and she ran over my toe.

‘And, both wheels are exactly one inch from the kerb!’

Then her expression changed.

‘But there was no one there to witness it’  she sighed.

If the car is parked in on the curb and no one is there to witness it…

    Great take.

    Dear Keith,

I feel her pain and I laughed out loud. I once parallel parked. I managed to get between the two cars but how i managed to get both wheels on the passenger side on the kerb itself I’m not sure. I was kind of glad no one was there to see it. 😉 Cheers to Rosey. (one of my nicknames by the way).

    Shalom,

    Rochelle

Haha! You seem to have something in common with your namesake then Rochelle! Living as I do in a busy shopping street, I see things like that from my window all the time!

She said that next time she’ll steer with one hand and hold her phone out the widow with the other to video it!

    Hah! Poor Rosey…
Once you learn the technique… Never mind, some never learn.

That’s okay, Rosey, all they have to do is go out there and look and see for themselves that your car is right there, parked just where it should be!

Sigh. So many significant moments happen when we are alone. I guess it gives us stories to tell 🙂

Lovely comic writing, Keith. You brought a smile to my face! Of course, all these stories are perfectly true…

Actually just for once this is semi-true as it’s something my daughter said to me recently! I’m just hoping she doesn’t read it!

I am glad her friend gave her a drum roll. But perhaps a toilet roll might be more welcome these day.
