These are some amazing places! I love the architecture and ruins. The artwork on the ceiling definitely caught my eye 🙂

The history behind them is also fascinating. Near where I live, the National Trust own Batemans, Rudyard Kipling’s home and Chartwell where Winston Churchill lived. The list goes on and on.

    Keith,

WOW, these places are so stately and elegant! The first thing I thought of is Biltmore Estates in Asheville, North Carolina. That’s the closest place I’ve been to that makes me think of these homes you visited. It’s pretty amazing to think someone had or has that kind of money to have such a grand place but honestly if I had that kind of money I don’t believe in a million years that I’d want a home this big. I want to be comfortable but in a place like this I’d get lost. lol Great photo-ops! Come join my WildWednesdays linky party where just about anything goes. Happy WW, my friend!

Fortunately, the wonderful National Trust is there to preserve and maintain them. My annual membership fee is worth every penny! Good to be back Esha.
