“I’ve got a new window,” said my friend Rosey.
“Really, where?” I asked.
“In a wall,” she said.
“Obviously,” I said, “you’d hardly have one in the floor”
“Actually, that could be fun!” she chuckled.
“Rosey, where’s the window?”
“Oh, between the bedroom and living room”.
“Why?”
“Well, I was hammering a picture hook in the wall and I banged too hard and a window appeared”.
“A hole you mean,” I said.
“Well, it is now, but when you’ve neatened it up it’ll be a window and I’ll be able to watch telly from my beddy!”
Looks like I’ve got a job.

Thanks to Rochelle for hosting and Mikhael Sublett for the picture.
Poke Miss Froggie to join in the fun!

They may be related – I’ll ask her! Cheers Neil
LOL! Froggy doesn’t look too happy. I guess Froggy’s name isn’t Rosey … 😉
This was a lot of fun. Now … perhaps I should make a ‘window’ in the wall between my bedroom and living room …? Nah, perhaps not … I don’t think it would be much appreciated, anyhow … 😉
If you change your mind I can send Froggie round to help you! Thanks Na’ama.
LOL! You are ever so kind! 🙂
I always did admire women who are handy with tools. Think what Rosie might accomplish if you gave her a cordless drill for Christmas!
The only kind of wood I know how to work with is a pencil.
I hope she doesn’t read this or she’ll be asking for one! I tried sharpening a pencil with a knife the other day- I gave up!
Right. Pencil sharpener for you for Christmas. 😉
Ah, the world according to Rosey. Fun story, Keith.

…a world of her own! Thanks Susan.
Don’t tell her about skylights, Keith, you are too old to be up on the roof!
If Father Christmas can balance up there, so can I. I hope!
You got suckered into that one Keith!
Not the first time and it won’t be the last! Cheers Iain.
Fun Keith. Last time I took a hammer to a wall it was a sledge hammer and just one blow took the whole lot out. I should hasten to add that it was meant to!!
That’s OK then – you had me worried!
Demolition Di is alias.
Heeheehee! Yep, it’s going to be a job, and while you are at it, you might want to hang up any more pictures she has, save yourself another such trip.
That’s a very good idea Mimi!
I love an opportunist. Good luck!
If this doesn’t work try that. The story of her life! Thanks Sandra.
Always looking on the bright side, that’s our Rosey 🙂
I feel a song coming on! Cheers draliman.
Ah, Rosey – she is forever the optimist. She is correct, a window is a kind of hole. (Cut her pocket money now!)
She is. When is a hole not a hole?
That brought a hearty chuckle. There’s a reason why Hubby is not permitted to hang pictures or even touch a hammer. Trust me, the result is usually disasterous. Bless his heart, he wants to help….
At least he tries, and that’s worth a lot! Thanks so much.
Dear Keith,
Rosey certainly has a positive outlook on things, doesn’t she? Nothing like a little impromptu remodel. Cute story.
Shalom,
Rochelle
That she does, I sometimes wish I shared it! Thanks Rochelle.
I wish I had Rosey’s optimism – though I bet she’s a handful to live with. This made me smile, thank you.
For her, every cloud has a silver lining!
Thank you, Keith, for a smile on a day when the election results were dragging me down. Rosey is a great character!
She certainly makes me smile! Wouldn’t it be lovely if they gave us an election-free day today?! What’s done is done.
Goodness. He’s awfully calm considering the mess she’s left him to “neaten up.” I wonder what other plans she has up her sleeve 🙂
There’ll be more, there always are! Thanks, Linda.
Oh Rosey… lol. As soon as I read window + Rosey, “oh no” escaped from my lips. 😀
As soon as I saw the picture I thought of Rosey and went ‘oh yes’!
it may take some convincing to do, but i think patching up the hole on wall would be much easier. good luck. 🙂
Easier to do but it wouldn’t be easy to persuade Rosey! Cheers plaridel.
Oh dear. It’s called spontaneous remodeling I guess.
I like that! Thanks so much.
🙂 You’re welcome.
Rosey has a rosie attitude, coz she has a friend who can, pretty up the edges..
Silver linings and all that!
Every problem has a solution where Rosey is concerned. – I’ve certainly prettied up an edge or two!
There is that… 😉
Rosey is carefree isn’t she ? is their an upper limit to inside windows ? A house could become more windows than house…..
She certainly is. It’s fast becoming open plan!
Can’t have been a very strong wall – it sounds like my cottage, with all the internal walls lath and plaster.
Any wall would suffer when Rosey decides to bang a nail into it! I dread to think what she’d do to yours!
She was really swinging that hammer! Rosey may have anger management issues. Well done Keith!
I would say he is inclined to get a little overenthusiastic! Thanks so much.
Hi Keith – what a good idea … sounds like a kitchen hatch … saves buying another tv! … fun read – enjoy the build up to Christmas … cheers Hilary
That’s what she thought! thanks so much Hilary.
Haha Haha I always get a good laugh from your stories Keith
Just as I hoped! Thanks Laurie.,
