The statue is impressive, it’s hewn from a tree trunk. Delighted you liked them Hilary – I guess you’ve been there.
Yes Keith – but never on my own to wander around and that I’d like to so sometime. Oh I tell a lie! – I did go out to a talk on closing down the house down at Christmas time – that was really interesting … I did write 2 posts about that … but didn’t wander in the freezing garden … I really must get out and have a look round next year … cheers Hilary

Thank you so much for sharing these pictures of UK’s Kipling country. I remember you mentioning it to me a few moons back, when I had written about the forests of Kanha and Pench that inspired Kipling to write The Jungle Book.
Blessed to get a peak of his quaint and beautiful home. Shared it with my Boss man also, as my company has several eco-lodges in these destinations in Central India, including a few others around.

It’s wonderful to imagine a person like Kipling living there and writing there.
His study is just as he left it, glasses, pens and all – and it’s a bit of a mess!
What a beautiful place. Very inspiring for him I’m sure.
Not just the house, but the grounds are amazing – a mix of formal and wild. A great place to sit and think.
Loved the virtual tour of Kipling’s beautiful home in the country! What a beautiful estate! I’d love to step into the study and imagine how it must have been to be sitting on that chair and writing all those wonderful books that he did!
