I love queues! The longer the better. Why? Because I make money from them! I sing and I dance, I hold out my hand and collect cash!
I worked a massive queue today. It was the wettest day for ages so I wore my suit and hat, clutched an umbrella and performed my party piece over and over again – Singing in the Rain.
Leaping in puddles Gene Kelly style was not appreciated by everybody, but I had fun and made a bob or two.
It’ll be hot and sunny tomorrow. I’ll dig out my mankini, grab my ironing board and sing Surfin’ USA!

.

Thanks to Rochelle for hosting and Na’ama Yehuda for the photo.
Prod the frog to join in the fun!

Dear Keith,
A busker in the rain. Loved this. Although the vision of the mankini and surf board? I’ll pass. Love the musical frog.
Shalom,
Rochelle
Pure fiction, I promise you, Rochelle!
Quite the image there, Keith!
Best it remains that way! Cheers.
I’m shudderin’ in the sunshine…
Ah, there you are – on my way!
Lovely, fun read, Keith. Imaginative take on the photo prompt.

Thanks Susan. It was the second thing that came into my head – I always dismiss the first!
I can imagine this story. Turn any weather in a fortune. And if it storms he can dress in leather and sing Riders on the Storm 😀.
Great idea, I’ll suggest it to him! Thanks, Tannille.
I think I would prefer Singin in the Rain to the Mankini!! 🙂
You, and me too Iain!
I had to see what Mr. Froggy would be doing! Jangling them coins, I see! 🙂
There’s nothing he wouldn’t try Na’ama! He asked me to croak a thank you for the picture.
🙂 Thanks! Also, I realize I didn’t say anything about the story you wrote — as usual, it was fab! I shouldn’t have taken it for granted, though – it’s good! 🙂
No need Na’ama, the fact you visited it is quite sufficient! Thanks so much.
Glad to visit! 🙂
A delightful take on the prompt as always. You could vary a bit with “Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head,” but for the sunny days better go with a bottle of Rosee and “I’ve Got Sunshine Wine.”
On the other hand, people might pay you to leave if you started “Surfin’ USA.” And there’s always the danger of men in white jackets appearing. 😉
You may have a point there Christine!
good one Keith. Still trying to work an angle for mine………..
Thank you. I see you’ve come up with something now.
🙂 Took a while Keith.
You had me laughing out loud on that one. Mankini and an ironing board, eh? LOL
I’m delighted! Thanks so much.
You are very welcome, Keith.
I really enjoyed your take on the prompt, bravo
Thanks so much Mike.
Well, it’s a living!
Absolutely! Cheers Mimi.
Singin’ in the Rain is fabulous… Surfin’ USA might be best in boxers 😉
So much fun.
You clearly haven’t seen me in my mankini!
I admit to being a tad leery as those things are very unforgiving and look like shite on men in general!!
Oh, I don’t know. Actually you could be right!
Ummm. Yeah.
Excellent take! It is always business season for some…
Indeed it is! Thanks Reena.
Looks like someone here enjoys the rain (& ques).
Well, there’s money to be made!
Ah… Maybe that’s how they came up with the saying, ‘it’s raining money’.
Nice.
Thanks so much.
This sounds like an Opportunistic Entrepeneuer! Make lemonade with your lemons, nice direction Keith.
Absolutely! Thanks Joe.
Mankini? Oh lordy! Fun!
Not half! Cheers draliman
I want to see a photo of you in that get-up!
Are you sure about that? !!!
Ha ha ha! Oh that mankini… people might start handing him money to cover it up!
You could be right! Thanks Fatima.
Very entertaining. Good thing we caught the rainy day rendition.
Delighted you liked it, thank you.
Love this street hawker tale. I can just picture him, suit and all dancing in the rain. I might join him if it would mean we’d get some rain. Yesterday’s paltry mist was hardly enough. Next seven days forcast sun and 90’s temps. UGH!
We’ve had more rain here this week than we have done for ages! Could you send me some sunshine please? !!!
I’d gladly trade you a day or two of rain for sunshine and heat…it’s back to the 90’s and dry for the week. UGH… it’s usually upper 60’s by this time of year here in Kentucky, USA.
Okay, it’s a deal!
That was going so well until the Mankini image popped into my head, thanks a lot!!
You just wait til you see it! It’s ..erm.. interesting!
Nice..and you’re ready for all kind of weather too. I too, could have done without the mankini
I’m beginning to have second thoughts! Cheers Larry.
Hahaha. Good one. Can’t wait for surfer girl.
Delighted you enjoyed it!
Mankini! Hahaha!
Good one. Some people can turn any situation into a money-making opportunity. I wish I could be one of them.
Me too! Cheers.
That was quite an entertaining piece of flash fiction, Keith! Loved it.
Cheers,
Esha
Thank you Esha
A busker who is definitely versatile!
Oh yes! Cheers Colline.
Uplifting and fun. I love the optimism and opportunists. Well done.
Thanks so much James.
I don’t want to see anyone in a man-kini. It would ruin the music for me 🙂
Great story, Keith. Keep on singin’ in the rain!
I quite agree! Thanks Linda.
rain or shine, a positive attitude always works.
It pays to be positive! Cheers plaridel.
I’ve got a feeling people are handing his money just so that he’ll do away with the mankini! 😂
You are probably right Shweta!
Busking in the rain and shine. Fun, fun. The mankini can be dismissed off though. But who knows, for the eye balls he is gonna grab!
Such a breezy take on the prompt.
Have a great Sunday, Keith.

(tell me you were here — in my story)
You need something to cheer you up when queuing in the rain! Regrettably, I was neither in nor entertaining the queue in your story! Thanks, Natasha.
I think I prefer the singing in the rain gig! Haha. Fun piece
You are not alone! Cheers Laurie.
I loved this piece, Keith, frog and all. I was laughing out loud. I had to look up mankini. 😀 — Suzanne
I hope you weren’t too shocked with what you found! Thanks so much for your kind words Suzanne
It takes more and more all the time to shock me these days. 😀 — Suzanne
Ha! Thanks for the laugh. Would love to see the reactions to that last image. 😀
Careful what you wish for! Cheers Sascha
