Why isn’t the ferry stopping?

Looks like it’s full up love.

Well, they should have put an extra one on.

There may be one along soon love, don’t worry.

What if there’s not?

Not what dear?

What if they haven’t put an extra ferry on?

Well, we’ll have to wait for the next one love.

How long?

They’re every hour I believe dear.

An hour, an hour?

Well, yes.

I don’t want to wait an hour.

We could always swim dear!

What? Swim?

I was joking love!

This is not a joking matter.

Oh look, here comes a boat. I said they’d put an extra one on.

I should think so too.

And look, there’s another one behind it dear!

Typical. You wait for ages and two come along at once.

Have you got the tickets dear?

Yes, tickets.

No, you had them.

I gave them to you to look after love.

No, you didn’t!

Well, I haven’t got them.

Now what are we going to do?

We could always swim dear.

What? Swim?

That’s the thing about ferries and buses. Either they don’t come for a long time or they will come along in groups of two!
Haha they sure seem like a great couple. Great take on the prompt, Keith. 😄 I really really enjoyed it.

I can imagine this conversation repeated hundreds of times. Like the waves rolling in – a constant echo of human entertainment 😉

Substitute ‘walk’ for ‘swim’ and it’s a conversation hear regularly at bus stops!

An excellent tale! This type of “dithering female, nonchalant male” dialogue plans out often at this house. 😉
