This isn’t right.
It is.
Where is everyone?
On their way.
So, we’re the first?
Well, yes, obviously.
Where’s the stage?
Be here soon.
Sorry, this isn’t right.
It is.
It’s not.
It is.
It’s not.
Stop complaining. We’ve got a prime position.
Where’s the loo? I need a pee.
For goodness sake, go behind a bush.
This isn’t right.
Not again, I told you….
What’s today’s date?
July the…. seventh?
No, it’s July the first.
Oh…well…erm…
The festival’s next week you idiot!
Yea, but we’ve got a prime pos….
If you think I’m staying here for a week think on. I’m outta here.
.

Thanks to Rochelle for hosting Friday Fictioneers and Renee Heath for the photo.

I’m with you buddy.. I’m outta here…
Very sensible Violet!
No matter how good the spot is, I won’t wait around for a week just to keep it. lol Good job!
Nor me Cathy!
At the moment, there’s nothing on earth i can think of that would be worth waiting outside that long. Nice story!
I couldn’t agree more – I think he’ll give in!
Hi Keith – there be no trees to hide behind?! I certainly wouldn’t wait a week … I thought you were off into prime numbers – but no – still you primed me to check something out … sadly not useful! Still … the pic looks a little like cold frost – just as we’ve here … love the tale though – cheers Hilary
There may be a cactus or too, just don’t stand too close! Hope you are keeping yourself warm Hilary
That was fun. I loved the dialogue. Clever story! 🙂
Lazy writing, but it seems to have gone down OK!
It was very entertaining. =)
Teehee! What a mistake. I bet they drove for hours to get there too!
I imagine they did! Thanks Penny
Burning Man can be worth the wait, or it used to be worth it.

That’s on August 25th according to Google, so that’s a long wait – and a few thousand miles from the UK!
There’s getting there early and getting there EARLY! Time to turn around, guys.
This guy is not for turning! Cheers Dale
Best to get there early for a good spot. I admire him!
Exactly! Me too.
Ha ha – just a tad too early. Great take on the photo prompt, Keith.
Susan A Eames at
Travel, Fiction and Photos
Just a bit! Cheers Susan
Ha… well you either stay and enjoy the silence or leave…
It’ll certainly be quiet when she’s gone!
Haha, love the take on the prompt!
Delighted to have amused you!
Dear Keith,
Some people will go to a lot of trouble to get a good spot. I enjoyed this.
Shalom,
Rochelle
Indeed they will! Thanks Rochelle.
I hope the persistent guy brought a bucket of sunscreen. it looks like the prime position to get friend to a crisp. Another well done tale.
Good point! Thanks Christine.
Good point, bad typo. “Fried to a crisp.”
Ha ha ha. I’ll watch it online 🙂
Best of luck with that!
Strange two of them has come this far! Fact that they can’t seem to agree on anything! It is true for a city dweller absence of a loo may be a big concern. That too when the actual festivities are seven days away.
It’s not going too well, that’s for sure!
The conversation seems familiar to me, lol !
Oh dear!
As I said last week Keith, with you I’m never sure how much is fiction!
Let’s all this one semi-fiction! Cheers CE
Hey, they could have a nice little quiet-time holiday and then enjoy the festival next week 🙂
I quite agree!
That was a fun read! I won’t wait around for a week just to keep the spot !
Depends who’s headlining! Actually, you are right!
A great read Keith!
Thanks so much
Oops, I hope the nearest town is not too far.
Mmmm, wouldn’t bank on it! Cheers Bernadette
Totally believable dialogue! Are they in the chairs or the tepee?
Let me think….chairs…no, tepee. Not sure!
A week’s wait is too long.

Too right! Thank Kalpana
Hope its not like the Fyre festival, which was all hoopla and no show!
More like Glastonbury without all the mud!
Great dialogue.
Thanks Lisa
Funny. I like the repetition. I just knew he/she was going to be right in the end but couldn’t guess how. Great.
She was of course! Delighted you liked it Margaret.
Nope. 24 hours would do it for me. I hope it didn’t take too long to get there.
Not the greatest camp site I’ve seen!
Ha ha, that was fun! And a week is too long a stay in the wilderness. I would get away from there asap.
Much as I love camping I do tend to agree with you! Cheers Anshu!
Funny, Keith. And totally believable!
Fortunately is was fiction! Thanks so much.
Like the pared down dialogue – building up to the dawning truth…I wouldn’t wait for a week !
I took the easy route this week! Cheers WWM
Yep. No loo, no you! Besides, the organizers might move the stage. Then how prime will the position be?
Oh, I hadn’t thought of that – now what?!!
i hope it’s all worth the wait like falling in line to get the new iphone. 🙂
So do I, but not everything is worth waiting for!
Love the humor (as usual) and reminded me (at first) of what people must have felt when they went to the Fyre Festival –
Have you heard of it? It was a big disaster of a concert event where folks spent big money to show up to very little – had to sleep in tents and it was awful
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/music/news/fyre-festival-disaster-unfolded-bahamas-officials-have-site/
Until I followed your link, I hadn’t heard of it – what a disaster – and I complain about all the mud at Glastonbury! Thanks so much Prior.
yeah – we just watched the documentary – and your FF reminded me of it.
have a nice day and seriously – I like your humor – it lifts
Got to be in there first, plus Sounds Of Silence is a great song. Fun story.
It is, and I’m it’ll be playing in his mind for a week!
This was too funny. Love the dialogue and the concluion.
Thank you so much.
Hahaja great use of humour here!
Delighted to have amused you Laurie!
LOL – I hope the show was worth the wait!
I wonder! Not sure I’d have waited a week though!
Without basic amenities, the wait is too long! If I had to wait here for a week – “I am outta here as well”
Enjoyed the conversation 🙂
…me too – he’ll be getting a bit lonely there!
Love it. The humour, the dialogue…well written
gramswisewords.blogspot.com
Much appreciated Marian.
Oh my – no loo – bushes? Yikes!
I’ll pass on the event and on waiting. Nicely unfolding story, Keith. It verifies what I dislike about camping. 😃
Isadora 😎
I love camping, but that’s just not for me either!
Ha Ha Ha
A humorous tale, Keith and cleverly written in all dialogue 🙂
I’m pleased you enjoyed it Jade.
Ah, the importance of a calendar. This made me giggle.
So true! Thanks so much Susie
Lesson learned.
Indeed. Thanks Dawn
