Her mother holds her, feeds her, cleans and dresses her;
always there for every need.
*
One moment the warmth of the womb,
the next a strange new place,
for she’s in the springtime of her life.
In the summer of her life she blossoms, blooms
and brings into this world a child of her own.
Weary with work she looks forward to the future,
for now it’s the autumn of her life and
her child is now a mother too.
In the winter of her life,
she gazes at the world through unfamiliar windows,
unsure of where or who she is.
*
Her daughter holds her, feeds her, cleans and dresses her;
always there for every need.

That’s so kind of you David, thank you.

Hi Keith – yes that’s what my mother said to me … it should be me looking after (out) for you … but as you say the circle of life. I was lucky the last few years were good … my Ma was cared for and I visited or made sure she had visits twice a day, and picked up any pieces – hospital trips etc … it was all good … our times are a-coming in …. ?! Cheers on a lovely sunny day – Hilary
Similarly to mine, Hilary. I can’t bear the thought of being a burden. Here’s to sunny days ahead!
Poignant, Keith. Your sensitivity has touched me this morning. ♡
Thank you Nancy.
Beautifully done, Keith.

This is beautiful, Keith. The seasons of a woman’s life. Love it.
