It’s on the table
look, up there.
But I can’t reach it,
it’s not fair!
I could grab this leg
and shake and shake.
But when it falls
it might break.
Even up
on tippy-toes
how I’ll get it
goodness knows.
Suppose I climb
up on this chair?
I don’t like heights,
don’t think I dare.
I give up
I’ll let it be.
It’s not easy
being three.

I’m not three, but I have this problem sometimes too. It’s not easy being short, either. <3
I remember in the 60’s we had shoes with massive bottoms on them which made you look much taller!
That’s cute! It’s also true when you’re a short adult! 🙂
I guess so! Cheers Sascha
🙂
Like Jamie, i am short, but i learned to climb.
How brave you are!
How life like.
Thanks so much Sadje
You’re welcome 😇
I totally empathise. I’m many times three, but face the same problem . A bit vertically challenged, if you know what I mean. 🙂
I love that expression!
Aah! Yes, life isnt easy for a three YO and when you want to explore each and everything in sight!
Such a difficult age!!! Cheers Shilpa
As an adult, I sometimes exploit this problem – the toddler I nannied last summer had a knack of getting things he wasn’t supposed to, so putting them up where he couldn’t reach was a trick I learned very quickly.
I bet he had a good try though!
Hehe!! He definitely did!
My 4 year old grandson would be up on that chair before you could say, “get down”. He has always been a climber.
A mountaineer in the making! Cheers Kristin
I still feel this way in supermarkets regularly lol #shortgirlproblems
Debbie
I’m often asked to reach things for people in supermarkets! Cheers Debbie
It sure is difficult being three years old. But childhood days are the best!
Happy days indeed! Thanks Kislaya
Even I, as a rather vertically challenged adult, can easily relate to this dilemma. Of course, even adults sometimes don’t rationalize as well as this child did today.

This child is s logical thinker and is sure to go far! Cheers Gail
Very clever rhyme! Loved it!
I’m delighted you enjoyed it Trudy
Yes, the life of a kid is always toughest. My kid’s blog always proves that point
Good for the kid for trying!
Made me smile….and understand the frustration!
