That whole western theme is hysterical to see you guys doing overseas!
Mitch
I wondered what the reaction would be from your side of the pond Mitch!
A very well attended festival. Lovely pictures.
Thanks, Sadje.
It was, people come from far and wide each year.
Awesome 👏🏼
What great fun! I want to move to Bexhill!
Why not? We certainly enjoy a lot more events than our neighbouring and considerably larger towns!
I love the last pic. I have driven all of Rte. 66 except for the St. Louis to Springfield trek. Quite the ride! Looks like you had an enjoyable day.
It’s something I’ve always wanted to do, but never got round to! One day…
Here is a post I wrote back in 2013 before I drove the Chicago to Springfield section.

What fun. I would have loved to participated in this fun. You do the coolest things.
Thank you for hosting the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week, Keith. 🙂
A lot goes on in our town – that why I like living here so much!
What a fun festival! 😀 A little taste of old-time USA in England. And you even had a Dolly Parton impersonator. Whoever organized all of this did a nice job. Your town has a beautiful beach area too!
She was pretty good!
That was high tide, it looks very different when it ebbs leaving vast areas of sand and rockpools.
I would have sworn you were in Texas- until I realized there was not one ‘Red Hat’ in the crowd! What a fun event!
Next I’ll wear a red hat so you think I’m in Texas! It was amazing.
Oh wow, looks like tons of fun!
It was, lots and lots of tons!
I’m glad for you!!
How wonderful and such fun for all! My Sweetie would have loved to be there.
I wish he could have been – you too of course!
I can’t believe how much you have going on in your town. So much fun going on and I wish I lived nearby. Lovely photos as always.

So much goes on! It’ll slow down a bit now that Summer’s gone, just a little!
What a festival! Love the cowboy hats
I really should have worn one myself! Next year perhaps.
How fun – we went to a think like that earlier in the year- it’s so nutty but a surprisingly good time!
It’s fun, pretending to be a cowboy – or are they called cowpersons these days?
My favorite theme. Brilliant photos, Keith!
I’m pleased! Thanks so much, Shiju.
It’s such a beautiful setting along the water and seeing all the people dressed in their outfits, some a bit crazy too! What we want to know is where did the Minnesota Moonshine come from? We have never seen it here in Minnesota, LOL!
I have no idea, but at 200% proof I think it would be wise to give it a miss!
Looks like a fun way to spend a day. Love the country theme. Dolly was an excellent impersonator.
It was, and the weather was kind which helped! She was good as were the other musical acts
I got upset when my local church hosted an appreciation celebration for volunteers and used a Western theme; saw all those easterners in cowboy getup and gingham dresses and boots. Then I realized, “Imitation is the highest form of flattery,” so I sent the leaders a ‘Thanx to you’ note!🤠 Gotta visit Bexel-on-Sea sometime when Anita and I go over the pond one of these days.
Indeed it is! I’m ready and waiting to greet you!
What a fun ‘Wild West’ post ~ great photos too ~ thanks,
an artist reflects (carol mck)
A great time was had by all! Thanks, Carol
Looks like a lot of fun. And I love the Dolly impersonator!
It was – and so did I, she was amazing!
A really great turn out for this event. Pretty complete western setup with horse and horserides and lots of western garb. Great photos Keith.
It was packed, where they all came from I’ve no idea – it was like the population of our small town doubled for a day! You name it, we had it!
Awesomeness! Words of festivals spread quickly.
Wished, we could be there… how funny and wonderful.
Understood very well, the look back.
Thanks so much, you’d have loved it I’m sure!
