Like most coastal towns, ours is plagued by seagulls that swoop down and steal food from the hands of unsuspecting eaters!

Gull One was waiting on the church roof for the other gulls to assemble and discuss today’s plan of action. A sunny day at the seaside always provided rich pickings, and this promised to be an exceptional one!
Minutes later the meeting began. They were informed of the places most likely to provide the best opportunities. There would be three ice cream vans, a fish and chip truck, a stall selling hot dogs and burgers, and a doughnut machine. Lots of food for the taking.
Gull Sixteen was excited, he’s an enormous bird and a sausage stealer extraordinaire hence his nickname Gulliath!
Gull Twenty-six has a thing for 99’s, those ice creams with a delicious chocolate wafer poking out of the top, there’d be lots about today!
Gull fourteen gulped at the thought of all the chips there’d be waiting to be taken! He needed to be careful though, the other day he was a bit too greedy and took a huge one which got stuck in his gullet!
Flirty Gull Thirty was eyeing up Sexy Gull Seven, she liked to be waited on and he was the most gentlemanly gull among them. He seemed to be enjoying the attention!
Gull Thirteen was listening carefully, he was usually unlucky even on the most favourable days. That was partly because some of the naughtier gulls liked sending him on a fool’s errand, giving him false information. No wonder he was also known as Gullible!
Meeting over, Noisy Gull Nine puffed out her breast and shouted, “Three, Two, One, GO – and the rest of you follow them!”

I snapped these this morning – one of two gulls on the church roof next door taken from my balcony, and the other, a Mr Whippy van at the Bexhill Cassic Car Festival – lots of pics tomorrow!

It was, though my encounter with seagulls was only when I used to visit Seattle. No seagulls in the plains of Punjab.
