I often sit here.

I’m surrounded by an army of gravestones, standing to attention, honouring the dead.

A faithful few enter the church. They sing hymns and mumble prayers.

A kid rushes by. ‘Ready or not, here I come’.  Another crouches behind a tomb. I used to hide there.

Beside an overgrown grave kneels a lady, clipping weeds, dabbing tears. I knew her once. I smile and blow her a kiss, but she doesn’t see me.

I often sit here. Not seeking peace and quiet; I get plenty of that. I just like to see what’s going on above the ground.

Prod Froggie to visit the squares.

He seems like a gentle, friendly sort of ghost. I wonder if she thought it was the wind brushing her cheek?

Two of my favorite shows are “Ghosts” both the British version and the American one. Very endearing ghosts on those shows. Not scary at all. 😉

What an end-line twist! I wonder if anyone could write an upbeat story about this spooky scene?

It is always nice to have a change of scenery. A vacation from the after-world. Nicely done, Keith!

It’s a nice thought that the dead can find peace like this in a graveyard.
