Worthless?

.

.

.

He was forever climbing a greasy pole. He hated his life but every attempt at a change in direction failed and sent him back from where he came.

His search for help yielded him nothing. His quest for recognition led him nowhere.

It was like being trapped inside a glass dome, looking out at everything he desired. But even his screams were silent. His look of desperation went unnoticed.

If you think his story ends there, you are wrong! Things began to change.

He’s become a prison officer. Now he’s on the outside whilst those inside yearn freedom. He ignores their pleas and and takes pleasure from their discomfort.

At far as he’s concerned, he’s got his own back on the society  that considered him worthless.

Always sad when frustration and disappointment lead to bitter and mean.

    Well done, sir!

It is sad and it demonstrates the fact everyone has their hard, and before you judge remember you don’t know what the person has been through.

Sadly, I have to wonder about people who go into corrections- what on earth could they be hoping to achieve- I have a feeling it is something similar to this unfortunately…

Not sure he is successful as a prison guard who “takes pleasure from their discomfort” but it was also good that he got off the greasy pole
oh and earlier this month we watched some footage of the Gloucester’s Greasy Pole Competition: An annual event held during St. Peter’s Fiesta, where contestants race across a greased pole to grab a flag at the end. It was pretty funny seeing so many try to walk the greasy pole.

I had no idea such a competition existed! What fun that must be – to watch not participate in that is!

yes, to watch – and we saw highlights of where someone came out of retirement to try and win this year (guess he won a lot in the late 1990s) and it was odd but also so fun to watch
hope you have a great day!

A great take on both the images Keith. Being on the outside should have made him grateful and a sadist !
