For Wordless Wednesday and bloghops various!

May the 8th saw the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe, the end of World War Two.
During last week, like towns and cities across the UK, we celebrated the occasion. We lit a cliff-top beacon, had a parade, and held a seafront concert.
On Sunday, a street party took place just round the corner from me. You will not be surprised to learn that I took heaps of photograph! Here are some of them – quite a few in fact – plus three very short videos.
Click pics to take a closer look!.

It was amazing, there were so many veterans there. Lots of people dressed in 40’s clothes too. All in all, our town did us proud.

A wonderful celebration that most of the world celebrated when it ended. Wish I’d been there and found you. Hubby and I could have celebrated with you.
Thank you for hosting the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week, Keith. 🙂

We heard on the news about celebrations but wow, that is really an event! Love all the patriotism, craziness, happy folks as well as the memorabilia. I don’t think we have any events that are quite like that over here. Absolutely amazing and so fun!

Looks like quite the celebration of a historic moment.
Sadly, things were pretty subdued here for VE day, especially given our current context.

Wonderful and bright photos, Keith. The weather and the whole event looked fantastic. Love the little minature horse (?) and the festive hats worn by many.

That was Rosie the Little Grey Pony who often makes an appearance at events around the town! It was great that so many wore 40’s style clothes – plus the union flag bowler hats!

Hi Keith – Bexhill certainly did the country proud … I’d been fund-raising for St Wilfrid’s on the Monday … and met up with a friend for lunch on the 8th … whom I hadn’t seen for a couple of years – so catch up time. Brilliant photos – cheers Hilary
