They lived on opposite sides of the bridge.
Each day their paths crossed as they walked to work.
At first they, ignored each other as they went on their way.
One day they seemed to notice each other but exchanged nothing more than a glance.
The next day he smiled as they passed, she did not.
A few days later, they smiled at each other, his heart missed a beat.
The day he’d been hoping for arrived, she stopped and they spoke to each other!
That was the day he intended telling her how he felt.
It was also the day her noticed her tattoo. Love yourself, not me it said. He was lost for words.
He didn’t cross the bridge the next day. Instead he left a few flowers midway with a note attached. His name and number.
They both live on the same side of the bridge now.

A lovely story Keith. I like the brevity of this, yet it conveys the story so beautifully. Thanks for joining in.

Reality triumphs over philosophy. Anyway, she maybe got the tattoo when she wasn’t quite sober–as a lot of people do.

You may be right, too many do – maybe tatt parlours should give everyone a breath test before going ahead!

That would be rather counter-productive.”Let the buyer beware (the morning after)” and all that.
