Me too, I wish it wasn’t just a legend!

Keith read your history, that is King Alfred the great who was born near where I live in Wantage. I think Winchester was his capital. King Arthur was more down Glasonbury way and is just a legend as to the round table that was made in around 1250 during the reign of Edward I you can read about it in the link https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Round_Table
It’s a pretty city but one I have never been to

Sorry Sir, I inadvertently typed Arthur instead of Alfred!
Having lived in Winchester I am pretty clued up about the Kings with connections to the city both legendary and actual. It was indeed King Alfred’s capital. The table is in Winchester Castle which was built by William the Conquerer.
Duly corrected.

Vikings, King Arthur, Jane Austin- no wonder the USA is falling apart- we have no roots! This is truly a remarkable journey. Thanks for taking me along.

Love King Arthur and love all the beautiful spring flowers and blossoms. Beautiful.
I really love the food. Not sure what each dish was, but I tried all of them, then I ate a whole bunch of the strawberries. Delicious.
Hubby and I would still love to join you for a pint or two.
Thank you for hosting the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week, Keith. 🙂

Beautiful photos of a lovely place with so much history. The flowers and fruit look good. I am not sure about the “advos” though, I think I would prefer avocados!

It’s interesting to see how the city stretches from King Alfred to jazz musicians playing on the street.
