”What are you doing?”, asked Anne.
George was carefully drawing squares, circles and squiggles on a sheet of paper. He slowly breathed in, held his breath … then slowly breathed out again.
“I’m creating a zentangle, let me concentrate”.
“”Why?” she asked.
“Because it reduces stress and anxiety whilst promoting a sense of calm and well-being, now please, shut up”.
“You don’t look very relaxed”, she said.
“That’s because …ahhh, now look what I’ve done!”
“That line’s wonky”.
“I know Anne, you don’t need to tell me!”.
“So much for reducing stress”, she said, as George flung his zentangle across the room.

Dear Keith,
Oh what zentangles we weave. 😉 Love the story. I’ll see myself out now.

That was fun. All hail to the wonky line. I do something like zentangle sometimes, but I’m too messy for nice and clean lines.

LOL! I really wonder what the source of George’s stress is? Where’s the duct tape when you need it.

I’ve heard about people colouring picture books to reduce stress. Clearly, it has the opposite effect here.

I felt for George, as his stress soared. My son used to do something like this a long time ago to relax, but I had never heard it called “zentangles.” Creative story as always, Keith!

I do word puzzles to relax, zentagles would drive me up the wall!
Thanks so much, Brenda.

Ha. That was a funny story. Amazing how life seems to stand the way of calm sometimes.
