My neighbour, Glenda, went for a walk the other day. It was nothing unusual, she often does. She walks across town or into the countryside, clutching her trekking sticks, and when she’s had enough, she catches a bus back home.
As I said, she went for a walk, but I’ve not seen her since. Most of the bus drivers know her, so I asked a couple of them if she’d travelled with them lately, but she hadn’t. I’m worried that she strayed off the beaten track and got lost somewhere.
She’s not been that nimble of late. Aches and pains, that kinda thing. She said she was struggling with slopes, and as for steps, the only ones she’d ever climb in future were those on the stairway to heaven. I laughed and said they should lay on a bus to heaven for people like her!
You should have seen the look she gave me! She said the journey to eternity was not a laughing matter. Whoops!
Mmm, I wonder where she is. You don’t think that she… that maybe… no, that’s crazy. Wherever she is, I hope she’s okay. I like Glenda so much. I’m really missing her.
Update: I just saw her getting off the number seventy-five. She told me that she’d been to stay with friends for a few days. I said how relieved I was and jokingly told her I thought perhaps she’d climbed those heavenly steps. I got that look again!
Love ya’, Glenda!

Cool story, Keith.
I love ‘that look’ – most of us have perfected our version of it.

Fun story! She needs to let neighbors know when she’ll be out of town, perhaps.

Hehe that look must be amusing. 😀
Enjoyed the story. I thought she went to trek but friends are okay. She enjoyed.

What is it with women and that look, Keith? Do their mums teach them before they leave the crib?
Glenda seems sure which direction she’s heading in the hereafter, while some of us are more likely to meet on the Highway to Hell!

They have a look for every occasion and I’ve witnessed most of them!
So, you’ll take the high road – why am I not surprised?
