It’s waiting for me. A pot of gold. How do I know? The fortune teller said so.
She charged me £5, a step in the wrong direction, but wealth awaits me I’m sure.
I’ve done the lottery, I’ve bet on the gee-gee’s, I’ve played bingo, but still not discovered it. With every step I take, it moves a step away.
Down there, a penny on the pavement! Surely, that’s a sign.
Up there, a rainbow. I just need to find its end, here goes!
Oh, it’s faded away. Just like my dream. I’m asking the fortune teller for a refund.

Prod Froggie to see the squares!

Dear Keith,
Alas, he’s looking for wealth and success in all the wrong places. Amusing read. 😀
Shalom,
Rochelle
It certainly seems so! Thanks so much, Rochelle.
That pot of gold is made of rainbow dreams.
It certainly is!
💜💛🧡
Annoyingly relatable.
Oh dear, you too?
hahahahaha – well at least you have the penny –
I’ll spend it wisely!
Good luck with that refund request
I’ll need some!
I’m currently writing a story based on superstitions. Finding a penny is considered good luck, but sometimes, it’s not if “tails” is facing up.
Indeed it is! I’ve picked up few, but so far, no luck!
Well done Keith. That gold one seeks is within the heart…no need to look further..as the saying goes..we are richer than we think. Nicely done parable..
**”Betting on the gee-gees”… I had to look that one up…thanks for introducing me to a new term!.
Wise words Suzette, I hope my chap reads this!
Thank you Keith. Cheers!
Nice one Keith
Thanks, Di!
Poor guy can’t catch a break!
I know, never mind!
🙂
Every dream is a pot of gold. I wonder if only he got out of bed, then fortune may roll his way. perhaps, learning a new profession, like fortune telling might work.
What a good idea! Cheers, James.
Cute story! Such optimism even as he gives his money away!
The eternal optimist – at least, he was!
Ah, friend, the surest way to double your money is fold it in half and put it back in your wallet.
So it is! I’d never realised that!
Where dreams begin … and usually end. Great story, Keith!
ain’t that just so!
Hahaha 🙂
Thank you!
There is no refund now. Terms and Conditions applied *
😀
Oh dear! A shame he didn’t read them!
Like a lot of things, when you finally get to where you thought it was … it’s no longer there. And before you know it, it doesn’t exist any longer. Good one, Keith.
We’ve probably all been there in one way or another! Thanks, Sandra.
i suppose it’s a bad idea to quit now. just keep looking for that pot of gold. 🙂
It’s there, somewhere over the rainbow!
“a penny on the pavement” is always a good sign! Linda 🙂
That’s what I’ve always thought, but I’m still waiting!
I found a silver coin just this morning in the council carpark – so yay – it does happen!
Never met a broke bookie!
I wouldn’t bet on finding one!
He certainly needs a refund. Entertaining tale, Keith!
Whether or not he’ll get one, I really can’t tell! Thanks so much, Brenda.
that fortune teller will probably be as difficult to find again as that pot of gold.
I’m sure you’re right!
Hehehe! Fun read! Sometimes I think we dream about the wrong things.
Good luck with that (lol).
