What’s that?
You may well ask.
I did.
Okay, it’s called my Long Thing.
I beg your pardon?
Long thing, you know, something that’s long.
It’s aptly named I’ll give you that, but what the blazes is it for?
I use it for transporting long things.
Like what?
Well it’s useful for carrying baguettes, they can be quite long.
And?
Bamboo canes, my sausage dog, the wife when she’s sleepy, even trellis fencing at a stretch.
How fast does it go?
From speedy to a snail’s pace, depending on its cargo.
Interesting.
Why don’t I give you a demonstration, on you hop.
Okay, do I sit up?
No, you lie down.
Head first or feet first?
I haven’t got a spare crash helmet so I suggest feet first. Ready?
Ready!
Then off we go…..!
And off they went.
I do write a load of nonsense sometimes! At least it wasn’t a long tale…unlike my cat’s tail, but that’s another story. Would you like to hear it? It’s very ameowsing! No?
Please yourselves.

Thanks so much. I did get then confused once ot thrice, but I got there in the end!
You’re a natural!
‘snail’s pace, depending on its cargo’ – absolutely inspired!
You get a chapeau for that, mon p’tit!
I doff my hat in return, thank you CE.
Fun story, great graphics and the voices are brilliant, Keith.
And I love the ending.
A nicer comment I couldn’t wish for, thanks, Jenne!

I couldn’t possibly!
Haha! Nicely written Keith
Thanks so much, Sadje!
You’re most welcome 🙏🏼
You make brilliant and fun connections in your prompt stories, Keith. Bravo.
Thank you so much, Suzette!
Very nicely done, and I do wonder what in the world kind of use this would actually be.
My thoughts too!
I’ve never seen one before!
Nor me, wierd!
Meowsing indeed. Very funny — even without the cat’s tail.
I’ll save that one for another day!
Oh, my darling Keith! You had me laughing out loud! Your voice throughout was perfection. This is a great example of having fun with a prompt and entertaining your audience without getting all caught up in whether or not you’re writing the next great novel. Bravo!!
Thanks so much, Nancy, I really do have fun writing this type of thing,I like to offer a bit of light relief here and there! One things for sure, I’ll never be a novelist!
Okay, this one was so fun, I know MUST hear the cat’s tale!
