For Wordless Wednesday and bloghops various!

Five miles along the coast from me is the town of Hastings. It has a sizable fleet of fishing boats, and yesterday morning I took a stroll among them before they headed out to sea. Hastings doesn’t have a harbour, instead the boats are hauled up and down the beach.

Next week I’ll take you shopping in Hastings Old Town for a trip back in time!
Here’s Linky!

Great pictures. Memories of Poole Harbour.
I’ve not been there for years!
It’s been a while for us now and no reason since Mum died as I have no contact with family there.
Nice! Thanks for sharing 😀
~David
My pleasure, David!
Great adventure, Keith! I’m excited for the shopping hehe
Thanks Maria, don’t forget your shopping bag!
Thanks for the reminder 🙂
I enjoyed your photos I haven’t been to Hastings for years had a friend move from London he moved along to St Leonards on Sea 🙂
Have a fishingtastic week Keith 👍
St Leonards is a couple of miles from me – I’m off there soon to my local Aldi!
The pictures are great.
Thanks so much, Kritika!
My pleasure 🙂
Lots and lots of boats 🛥️
That’s just a few of them!
😍
What a cool place. I love the boats. Very nice. Thanks for hosting and I hope that you have a wonderful week.
A few years ago I photographed them covered in snow. It looked very different!
What beautiful pictures, Keith. And talk about back-breaking work to haul those boats up and out of the water!
Why are old rusty, falling apart boats, so appealing to take photos of? I also particularly love the photo of the brown wooden boat. So lovely.
Fortunately they have machines to help them!
I agree about the abandoned boats, they are quite arty! I’m not sure if the brown boat still floats, but is very handsome.
Yes indeed.
And they are so photogenic! It is very handsome.
Great shots of fishing boats and the town. I want to have fish and chips and a pint or two.
Thank you for hosting the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week, Keith. 🙂
That’s exactly what I did before heading home!
Lovely photos. What is the building in several photos from #14 onwards with two towers and an arch? I see freshly caught halibut for sale. My favourite fish but not widely available here.

That’s the West Hill Lift’s drop-off point. It’s the steepest funicular railway in the world and still uses the original carriages dating back 1891. At the top is a country park with incredible views, a castle and smuggler’s caves!
If I could send you some halibut, I would!
This is something out of a story book for me. How charming!! It doesn’t look real.
Thanks, Lydia, I know what you mean!
That’s quite a way to make a living, and I can only imagine how difficult it is to haul the boats up and back each day.
It’s not a job I’d fancy!
Beautiful shots! The fishing boats remind me of Van Gogh’s paintings.
…now you come to mention it!
A good series of Urbex
Thanks so much, I’ve not heard that word in a while!
