My lifelong aspiration has been to write a piece of music which enraptures the soul of the listener whilst transporting them to another plane.
My desire is also to challenge the musician by offering them the opportunity to demonstrate their mellifluous prowess.
For some time I have been attempting to create a composition that encompasses both these aims.
The cello is considered to be the closest sounding instrument to the human voice thereby offering it a special place in the harmonious universe.
Over the centuries, Chopin, Shostakovich, Hayden, Schumann and many more have written pieces for the cello, but each of them left me wanting more. I feel I can provide it.
It is with humble pleasure I present to you Keiramblé’s Étude for Cello opus 48.
My student sits, legs akimbo, bow poised. I raise my baton, and the second I sweep it she begins to play … oh gawd, it’s awful. STOP!
That’s another Étude down the bloody drain like E47, E46, E45, E44………

So good. So very good. 😊👍🏾🙂
That’s so kind of you, thanks so much.
Fantastic! Goodness gracious me, Keith! I would never have come up with this genius story writing from the prompt photo…Bravo!!!
Thanks for that, Suzette!
Ha! Music to someone’s ears, I’m sure!
I’m not sure who’s!
A brilliant composition! Not E-48–just the story. 😉 I was hoping you’d give us a sample of the music.
Thanks, Christine. It’s there if you dare listen to the audio!
I did listen to the audio. Yeah…meh… 😉
My favourite instrument is the cello. Guess we are not all gifted, eh?
I love it too. Just because we can’t make music doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy it!
‘Zactly!
I do love the cello, but eek!)
It was a bit eekie!
By the looks of things, your student quickly followed! Fun write, Keith! As the old plumbing advert goes ….

Tut tut! All those dreams …..
Living in dreamland! Thanks, Sadje.
You’re most welcome 😂🤗
Ah, well, there’s always 49. Fun story, sir!
Indeed, but worry not, I won’t be featuring it any future audios!
Hilarious Great write
I’m really pleased you enjoyed it Marja, great to see you here!
Oh. Such a build-up. And such a let-down. What a great idea for this prompt. Fun story. Love it.
I imagine every composer had a few failures, though probably not 48! Thanks, Margaret.
Did someone say, ‘Funk 49?!?!’
(Not gonna point fingers, but, as a due-process-hint: her name rhymes with Mimi)
fun
I do believe they did!
It seems that it’s true what your friends say about you, Keith, there’s no beginning to your talents!
Fun story as always, maestro!
They’ll begin in time, I’ll just have to keep practising! That said, thanks so much CE!
Ha ha, nice one – or actually, not nice one!! 😆🎼
