…for Rochelle’s Friday Fictioneers photo prompt.

Let me read it to you!
.
“Shoe shoe shoe…” said Sid.
“Oh no!” shouted Sharon as she leapt onto the sofa, “you said you’d got rid of that horrible mouse!”
“I did, I don’t know why you were so scared of it anyway”.
“So what are you shouting shoo shoo shoo at?”
“I’m not shouting at anything, I’m looking for a shoe!”
“Oh, thank goodness” huffed Sharon as she flopped into the seat.
“Right boot, right brogue, left sandal, right slipper, …”
“Out the way, I’ll look”.
“Shoo shoo shoo” shouted Sid as he clambered onto the table.
“Shoosh, Sid!”
“No Sharon, it’s the mouse, it’s back!”

Hopefully not, a Mini Mouse scares them enough

Why did I fear the mouse would return when Sharon was searching? I’d like her to not be scared of the little thing like Sid is 😉

I think the little mouse is enjoying itself, should I ever come back as one I’ll be heading straight for a couple like Sharon and and Sid!

It is so marvelous how you come up with a thrilling story from a photo!. Great job, Keith. I guess Sid is not as brave as he had hoped when it comes to uninvited “guests.”

Thanks, Suzette. I’m not quite sure where my little story came from, it appeared from nowhere – a bit like the mouse!

Awesome…the story and the mouse!!

The mouse is likely more terrified than the humans, but still, I’d be up on the table, too. I hope it’s a sturdy one 🙂

If you have one mouse, you have many. After all, there are no little mousie priests, taking vows and not starting families.
Nice story! I hope they got rid of their mouse/mice/meeses.

Great laugh and play on words. Feel like I’m back in a Tom and Jerry cartoon. Wishing you a sunna weekend.

Hilarious dialog, Keith. I don’t think I’d be calm.
Screaming and jumping up on the sofa would be me.
HA HA Thanks for the chuckle. Fun story!

As always Keith, you made me smile, but I remain curious why people are so scared of mice, I think they are rather cute…in small doses mind you 😄

So do I, but I’m not keen on the droppings they leave in their wake!

Funny. I was going to suggest the same as Iain – tidy up the shoes, and the mouse problem might disappear.😊

I’ll suggest it to Sharon and Sid. The mice won’t be too pleased though!

Shriek, LOL. No, seriously, hilarious story, great dialogue. I bet the mouse hears shoo and thinks it’s an invitation. I always shrieked, ‘don’t kill it, don’t kill it’ – and came up with elaborate traps with see-saws that tip over in a box, and cheese, and relocation–only to find the beasty back in the house the next day.

Dear Keith,
What fun dialogue. Of course I always love a good play on words. And I have been known to stand on a table or two to get away from a wee mouse myself.
Shalom,
Rochelle

I briefly considered a shoo/shoe pun. Now, I’m glad I didn’t. You nailed it.
