For Rochelle’s Friday Fictioneers weekly photo prompt.
.

.
Let me read it to you!.
.
Open Mike Night at the Outside Inn was not going well for Joker Jock.
“What d’ya call an empty watering can? A watering can’t!”
Apart from a couple of groans, the bar was silent.
“What’s a prisoner climbing down a fence? Condescending!”
Not a single smile.
“Why do the French have small breakfasts? One egg is en oeuf!”
“I know what you ate for breakfast”, yelled landlord Len, “puncakes!”
You should have heard the laughter!
“Shakespeare came in. I said ‘oy, you’re bard’!”
Hysterics!
“Landlords are so pompous” murmured Jock as he sat down, “they act like they own the place”.

You managed to squeeze a lot of truly dreadful one-liners into that
Sorry about that …. actually, no I’m not!
LOL! Great lines Keith. Open Mike at the Outside house…LOL…perfect
Thanks, Suzette!
He needs to find another profession. Well done.
At least he tried!
Oh dear indeed Keith.
I agree, Di!
Who needs grief from the landlord? Fun story.
I’m sure several of my patrons said that about me sometimes!
I liked these puns. 😂😂😂
Thanks, Sadje, I’ve plenty more where they came from!
You’re welcome 🤩😃
Hahahaha
Hehe!
LOL
That’ll do nicely, thank you!
Cute. That’s all I’m going to say.
That is amply sufficient, thank you!
The landlord holds the keys to the beer, I suspect that’s why he got the laughs. Poor Jock.
It pays to respect the landlord! Cheers, Iain.
Dear Keith,
I see you’re up to your old pun and games. 😉 Careful, you might’ve opened Pundora’s box. Tee hee. Good one.
Shalom,
Rochelle
Pun and games, I like that! Thanks so much, Rochelle.
Haha, I like a light FF story for a change! Poor Jock though, outdone by the landlord
Thanks so much. I try to inject a bit of light relief now and again!
Funniest pun was the Outside Inn 🙂
Thanks, Linda, I’d love to go inside the Outside Inn!
Fun and very, very tongue in cheek puns in this tale.
It’s not easy being a comedian, Keith. Nicely penned …
It’s not something I’d attempt! Thanks, Isadora.
great one-liners. i may save one for my own collections. well done. 🙂
Feel free, it’s a shame his audience didn’t think so! Thanks, plaridel.
Delivered another punny one, Keith 😆
Pank you Maria!😊
I don’t know, maybe it’s me, but I thought Jock’s jokes were pretty good!
Thanks, Michael, I’ll let him know, he’ll be so pleased!
Keith I love all these puns and groan-worthy jokes – always make me laugh, especially the French breakfast 😄
I love a good groan too! Thanks so much.
Great stuff. This reminds me of my friend who thinks he is a chocolate orange. I’m concerned he is going to be sectioned.
Haha, I bet his name is Terry!
Well, you made me laugh. Well done, Keith. I really enjoyed it.
I hoped I might! Thanks, Rowena.
Like a rap battle, those two were having a Pun Off. I think it was a tie. Condescending is hilarious.
I think you are right! Thanks, Lisa.
You’re welcome 🙂
A puntastic piece 😀
I thought it was worth a punt! Thanks, Bernadette.
Lanslords hey? Laugh a minute… except at closing time.
As an ex-landlord myself, I quite agree. Some nights after a long day I couldn’t wait to jump into bed!
Landlords, hey? Laugh a minute except at closing time. Sorry if you get this twice. WordPress doing its thing these days
Sandra, for some unknown reason, your comments always end up in my spam folder! Don’t worry though, I check it every day and ‘approve’ any I find there.
I find the problems vary according to the sites I am visiting. But certainly, for several months now, just clicking, entering and sending a reply is a thing of the past. Now I have to either log in (though I already am) or decline notifications from the site, or just simply can’t get the send button to work.
It used to be so simple! This is just one of the ongoing issues WordPress really needs to sort out. Thank you for your patience!
This is my favorite … “Why do the French have small breakfasts? One egg is en oeuf!” I need to remember this one. Very witty, Keith! 🙂
You can tell I’m fluent in Français – non! Santé
Moi aussi! hehe
Funny stuff, Keith. You really do crack me up sometimes! 😂
I was hoping the egg pun would have that effect! Thank you, Nancy!
That got me rolling in the aisle. Thank you for some breakfast time hilarity. (No oeuf here, just tea and toast).
I’m so pleased, thank you, Margaret!
Thanks for the chuckles. Great take on the prompt and especially enjoyed the audio.
