Let me read it to you
.
Prince Charles, or King Charles as he’s known since having a crown popped on his head, has always been known for his love of trees. Whenever he planted a new one, and he planted loads, he whispered ‘Good luck tree’, honestly, if you don’t believe me Google it!
Also, he’s known for giving trees a hug now and again. What he whispers then, I’d rather not know!
I do it too, hug trees that is! Seriously, I love to, though a friend once told me I was barking mad! There’s something sensual about a trunk, don’t you think? No? Well, I do.
Woodpeckers show them no respect whatsoever, rat-a-tatting little devils, as for squirrels with their sharp claws, nasty. But they don’t complain. They offer shelter from the rain, shadow when it’s sunny, and a home to egging birds.
The reason I’m telling you this is because when I cuddled a fir tree the other day it whispered something in my ear.
Don’t laugh, I’m being serious!
‘Hell…owww, young man’ it said ‘I’ve been pining for you’. And then, get this, it cuddled me! It wrapped a root around me, at least I assume that’s what it was …
. .…and if you believe that, you’ll believe anything!

I’m rather partial to trunks myself, as you an tell by the name of my site! 🐘

Keith you tell the best stories!
What a lovely thing to say, thank you so much.
You’re welcome!
“I’ve been pining for you” I’ve always wanted to hear that, time for me to go hug a tree. This is a beautifully quirky story.
