For Sammi’s Weekend Writing Prompt where the given word is clockwork and the limit, 99 words.
Late to the party this week I’m afraid – my clock stopped!
.

.
Welcome to Clockwork, an exhibition of timepieces old and new!
Cuckoo clocks, that compete to koo the loudest.
A curmudgeonly grandfather clock with a boring bong, not a jolly ding, that stops at eight-twenty to make his face more miserable than normal.
A glass clock with its innards exposed, wishing it could go incognito, and some alarm clocks that always appear frightened!
Some carriage clocks with their swaying pendulums vying to be the oldest swinger in town.
These watches are keeping an eye on things.
The most popular clock is the Teasmade. Milk and two sugars in mine, please!
.
*In case you are too young to remember the Teasmade, it’s a bedside clock that does exactly that!

Clocks have advanced so much over time! (pun intended)
Thanks for the information Keith, I never heard of a Teasmade clock.

Nice one! I remember when a Teasmade was the most requested wedding gift!

I wasn’t aware of that kind of clock either. Thanks for the education, Keith! 🙂

I’m not fond of clocks. It seems like time is always moving too fast or too slow.

I quite agree!

Alarm clocks used to be so useful but were often quite abused.

Mine used to take quite a bashing!

I remember them falling off the nightstand when I’d try to silence it.

Ha ha ha! Fantastic! These lines though:
“A glass clock with its innards exposed, wishing it could go incognito,”
“Some carriage clocks with their swaying pendulums vying to be the oldest swinger in town.”
Hilarious! 😀

No more smashing the alarm clock any longer, it’s also the phone and that gets too expensive.
Nice one, i’m going to look up the Teasmade. Maybe i should put a coffee maker with a timer by the bed.

I love clocks, especially the ones with their works exposed. They’re not afraid to let the world see them for who they really are. And remember … even a broken clock is right twice a day! 🕰️
