I always do what she tells me to do. I never question anything Sally says. I’m polite and never forget to thank her for assisting me
So why did she do it?
I needed some help the other day and she came up with two ideas. I picked the one I thought best. However, before long I started having doubts. Was she playing a game? Was she having a laugh at my expense?
I must say, although the ideas she comes up with sometimes seem a little bizarre, in the end, they work out perfectly. So often I couldn’t have achieved the desired result without Sally’s help, and if I had it would have been in a roundabout way.
So like I said, why did she do it?
The thing is, we’d been invited to a party by one of my wife’s friends. It was some distance away and I was worried we’d be late. At one stage I wasn’t even sure I was going the right way. However, we’d almost made it when I found myself on a dead-end street!
Gee, I was pissed off! (see what I did there?)
That was it. My wife insisted then and there that I stop my constant flirting with SatNav Sally and get myself a book of road maps!
‘
Oh no! How mischievous of Sally.

Nice twist at the end, Keith.
You kept us going nicely with this mysterious woman.
And it seems she didn’t want you at that party.
Jealousy perhaps?
Somehow SatNav with human emotions doesn’t seem altogether impossible these days! 😉

They are still in their infancy, what will they be doing when they grow up?

Lol! I can totally relate..! GPS is great, but sometimes “Sally” does get it wrong.

Very true. I often get sent down lanes barely wide enough for my car!

I did see what you did there, Keith, and it was very clever. It reminded me so much of when my wife and I visited England some years ago and we dubbed the satnav in our hire care ‘Sally’ as well. And yes, she did occasionally send us in search of wild geese.

Not just me then Doug! Cheers!

I like ‘arguing’ with my Sally (when I use it/her!) I deliberately go a different way. “Make a U-turn where possible” is a phrase that makes me chuckle.
There’s always more than one way to reach a destination! 🙂
Fun post, Keith.

I’m pleased to hear I’m not the only one who disobeys for the fun of it! That phrase gets me going too! Thanks, Tom.

I love it! I was driving once and my travel companion had satnav on his phone. She kept telling us to turn around and go back – to make a turn onto a closed road!!! And once, after exiting the Detroit Windsor tunnel, she said to turn right – which would have landed us in the Detroit River.

Haha, that really funny! They certainly come with mixed blessings!

We’ve had a few problems with GPS, but for my Bigger Girl, it is essential. Her words, “Mom, I could get lost in a shoebox!”
