Geoff the chef made a cutting remark about his assistant’s knife skills. Katrina appeared somewhat upset although it may have been something to do with the onion she was attempting to chop.
He pointed to the pile of crudely cut carrots and partly peeled potatoes. He criticised her cabbage and mocked her mushrooms.
As Katrina wiped the tears from her cheeks, her expression changed from downcast to displeased. She wiped the blade of her knife then lunged toward Geoff, plunging it into his loin.
His expensive loin of prime lamb was ruined.
Katrina’s thinking of becoming a circus knife thrower.

Phew! A disaster was averted 😅
At least it was only the meat! Cheers Sadje.
Yes!!!!
hahaha!
What a waste!
I agree! 😉
Very good! I enjoyed the way you played with the words and with us.
I’m pleased, it was fun to do! Cheers, Mr. B!
This is hysterical Keith!
Wow, thank you Di!
🙂
Highly entertaining. I give this 2 Michelin stars.
Tracey
Thank you, I never managed even half of one when I ran my restaurant!
A change of career was on the cards
So it seems! Thanks, Neil.
Thank goodness it wasn’t the loin I was thinking of!
Indeed! Cheers, Iain.
A wonderful play on words, Keith. I hope Katrina becomes the world’s best knife thrower.
I’d hate to become the worst! Thanks, Alicia.
You had me laughing with the title, and you didn’t disappoint 🙂
That’s nice to hear, thanks, Linda.
Keith love the clever consonance (see what I did there?) in your story. He’s lucky she chose the lamb’s loin 🙂
I see exactly what you did Lisa, thank you!
You’re welcome 🙂
Rule of life #34: Never criticize someone when they’ve a knife in their hand.
#35: Call an ambulance if you ignore#34! Nice one, Christine!
Yikes!
That’s what I thought!
Well done!
Thanks, Mimi!
what a relief! if anything, it was the expensive loin of prime lamb and not his precious one that got ruined.
…thank goodness! Cheers, plaridel
You had me laughing from “Geoff the chef”…
The first three words – I couldn’t have hoped for a better response! Thanks, Dawn.
Never piss off a woman with a knife in her hand!
That’s something I always bore in mind when I was a chef with several young ladies assisting me!
Wow, several ladies with a knife. Very daring!
He should consider himself lucky 😂
…this time!
Dear Keith,
A nice slice of kitchen life. Sorry about the lamb loin though. Cutting edge story. Knifely done indeed. 😉
Shalom,
Rochelle
Haha! Thanks so much, Rochelle
Hahaha!! My eyes grew wide wondering which loin was being lacerated!
So did his for a second or two!
👀
That was a shocker – I didn’t expect you to write a murder, but you got me!
An almost-murder! Like you said, gotcha!
Thanks for the photo prompt Liz.
What a twist. Well done.
Thank you so much!
Great story Keith and I love the use of alliteration, old Geoff 👩🏼🍳 had a lucky escape there 😃
He’s lucky that’s all she stabbed!
Got me there! Great ending, love it.
Brilliant from the puns to the alliteration to the punchline. That was great.
Very entertaining as always, Keith! 😄
I never understand how angry critical Chefs survive in any kitchen , surely the meat suggests blood bath.
Great title, Keith and I’m relieved that it was the loin of lamb which got the knife.
Haha. Lovely. Could have been something far more sinister. Great twist. Shame about the loin but practice makes perfect. She’s well on her way.
OMG!! This one was quite that twist to the tale.
God bless, Geoff!! He was spared for once.
Loved it. And the voice memo adds to a whole new visual treat, seriously!
