Pinkie, we call him! Not due to his complexion, though it is somewhat ruddy, but because of his penchant for pink attire!
His passion for pink came about unexpectedly following a laundromatic faux pas when a red scarf found its way into a multitudinous mass of pale-coloured slightly soiled garments.
Having washed, rinsed and spun his raiments, imagine his surprise when he discovered the contraption’s contents were blushing as pink as cherry blossom!
His initial shock was short-lived however when he realised he quite liked what he saw.
Here comes Pinkie now. I don’t believe it, he’s dyed his hair!

A happy accident
Exactly! Cheers Neil.
It has happened to me too. I can live with pink garments but my husband has some objections 😂😂😂
I’m hardly surprised!
🤪😜
It’s the modern fashion as well, very on trend.
Pinkie will be delighted with your comment, Iain!
Oops! I think many of us have done that one before, Well done, Keith!
I certainly have, more than once!
A happy acciden, sometimes changes perspective. I love it. Thank you Keith.
Very true Suzette!
LOL…talk about owning it!
He’s certainly embraced it!
He did 🙂
happy, happy
Yeah!
Heeheehee! Serendipity.
Summed up in a word!
Living in a house with only the male species, we all saw our share of the dreaded pink undies. As I was the washer woman, I was naturally blamed for the errant red sock getting mixed in with the white t-shirts. My response was for the men to start doing their own laundry. My sons now do all the wash for their own little families! A life lesson handled as only a mother can. 🌹
Crikey, not a mother to mess with!
Dear Keith,
A similar thing happened to me when I washed a new purple dress with some light colored items. I now have a few pieces of lavender unmentionables. 😉 At any rate, your piece brought back memories and gave me a morning chuckle.
Shalom,
Rochelle
Thanks, Rochelle. Knowing your passion for purple, having items in varying shades of the aforementioned colour can’t be a bad thing!
My husband loved pink – said it took a real man to wear pink!
Absolutely, I am really proud of my pink…handkerchief!
Good one, Keith.
Thanks so much!
That’s a good attitude. I would not be happy.
Nor me, but I do have a very nice pink shirt!
Serendipity is a beautiful thing, and so, it sounds, is Pinkie 🙂
Pretty in pink and never happier!
“His passion for pink came about unexpectedly following a laundromatic faux pas” Oh! this made me laugh. Good for Pinkie for embracing his new look.
I’m not sure where that appeared from but I’m delighted it amused you! Thanks so much, Alicia.
Now that is serendipity. I’m sure he never would have found his preference for pink besides that. It reminds me of the old Simpsons episode where they put Homer in a mental asylum after a similar laundry mishap forces him to wear a pink shirt. 🙂

I don’t remember that episode but it sounds like a laugh! Fortunately, Pinkie didn’t suffer in a similar way!
A fun way to discover a favorite color.
An unexpected way too! Cheers, Liam.
Ha – yes we have all done it that random red item that sneaks into the washing machine – good one Keith …and Pinkie
Indeed we have, Angela!
Good for him. I’m glad he found his niche. Well done.
Thank you! He found his pinche!
Pinky likes it so it is a fashion statement, not an accident. I’ve had some creative washing accidents in the past, too. Some turned out to be quite fashionable. Fun story, Keith.
…creative washing accidents, I like that! Delighted you enjoyed it, thanks so much.
All I hear in my head is “Pinky and the Brain, brain, brain, brain….” LOL! What are we going to do tonight Brain??
Well done! 🙂
Cheers Kimber. I’d not heard of that, guess it never made it to the UK, so thanks Google for helping me out!
That’s funny! I think most of us can relate to this, if not pink, at least grey.
For me, grey is the new white!
I was expecting something like, “have a cigar”, “which on is Pink?”, or something Floyd. As for the colour, I got a lovely pink line under that word when I spelt it with a U. Fun and relatable story, Keith.
“Any color you like” Bill! I just got a lovely pink line when I left the U out!
🙂
He would do well to dye his hair to too, then he could have a pink party.
