Snaps…

for Wordless Wednesday and bloghops various!

0A few weeks ago, I showed you some of the restaurant facias in our three town centre streets. People however rarely look any higher. I did earlier today and this is what I saw above the shops and eateries!

Incidentally, if you are slightly bemused by the number of blue windows, they were reflecting the blue sky when I was photographing towards the sun!

Ancient and modern. I know which I prefer!

Then I took a stroll along the seafront and looked up at the apartments…

These were in the background of my fire event photos a couple of weeks back.

1I live in a loft apartment above a shop, but mine’s not nearly as fancy, even less so as it’s currently covered in scaffolding. That window is where I’m sitting right now peering over my PC monitor…hi!

I hope you didn’t get a sore neck looking at my pictures this week!

    Well hi, there!!
Thanks for the great fascade photos. I am amazed at how often I miss fascade details because I forget to look up.
I quite like that blue window effect…cool reflection.

Too many of us don’t think to look up, or down, often enough. Older buildings were built for function and style and show it.

So different from modern buildings, thanks, Mimi.

I loved these and the azure sky in the background.
Something very enchanting about these and your cutesy loft, Keith. 🙂

    Have a brilliant week ahead!

The facades are beautiful and so much lovelier than modern buildings. The blue sky sets them off to perfection too.

They are, and so much work went into the design and structure of them.

Sparkling post today, Keith! Beautiful shots. Glad I don’t have to wash any of those windows! 😳 🪣 🧽

Haha, me too. Mine hasn’t been washed for years!

The old architecture is so beautiful. It is a shame when they stick a plain Jane newer building in the midst of it all.

Some beautiful top-level facades there. We have a lot of those here in San Francisco, too, though the style and detail is different.
And funny, I live in a loft apartment, too 😺. Not much to see from the outside, it’s on the rear of a larger building, but really nice space for myself and the cats.

I really like loft living, despite being busy outside it’s really quiet up here, and having 60 steps to climb is cheaper than joining a gym!

It’s great for people-watching! I also get a lot of pigeons and gulls sitting on my sill staring in at me!

These are so beautiful – and so pristine! Ours get dirty. Sort of covered in black soot I guess.

Your town has buildings with such character and they look well-maintained. Very neat the blue effect on the windows. Nice to get a shot of your very window. Looks cozy.

Hi Keith – great to see these … and yes – the older buildings are so much more interesting … have you seen Richard Crook’s ‘Eastbourne in Detail’ – he covers so much? … I’m glad I’ve got it as a reference … it’s available in the little Heritage Centre in Carlisle Road – cheers Hilary
