For Six Sentence Stories where the given word is Mess!

I have to admit, my desk is a mess but at least I know where everything is, that’s over there, this is under that, they’re behind those, no problem.
My boss once said a cluttered desk is a sign of a cluttered mind, you should have seen his face when I pointed out that his desk was empty!
I wrote a verse yesterday, something I rarely do, it’s here somewhere but I can’t find it, it went something like this; I feel, you feel, she feels too…it’s a very touching poem.
I treated myself to a beautiful new pen, I’d show you if I knew I put it, anyway earlier this morning I spent ages trying to get the lid off and then it clicked!
Oh no, my bossy boss is heading my way and he’s carrying a rubbish sack, I bought myself some yesterday and it felt like I was throwing money away!
Right, I’d better start clearing my desk; yuc, that old sandwich stinks, ooh, this squashed coffee cup’s filthy, ah, that’s where this went, yea, this is where that was, aha……

Thanks to Denise at GirlieOnTheEdge for hosting.

You had me laughing the whole way through. Such great wordplay, like the poem that others noticed, and also: “earlier this morning I spent ages trying to get the lid off and then it clicked!” and the boss’s empty mind.

As a Janitor who has cleaned officed, i can tell you when you clean someone’s desk, you do not move anything! You pick up items, clean under them, then put them precisely back where they were. Yes, that doctor/accountant/etc. really does know where every piece of paper is and you better know they’ll let you know if you mess things up!

Enjoyed this Six.
Funny thing, at work a maintain a desk(top) that is absent all except what I might be working on… at home, very much the opposite.
But then again, I’m a total ‘write a list on a (yellow) 81/2×11 lined pad in both places.

I’ve always imagined you to be a very organised person. Interesting!

I’ll see your ‘Interesting’ and raise you ‘Weird’
I mean, work and being organized, ok that makes sense. Virtual presence in the arena of writing fiction, organized as well?!!
I suspect I should be concerned.
