Blast, I’ve missed the tram by three minutes. They are every thirty minutes so I’ll have to wait twenty-seven minutes for the next one.
Just a minute, there’s a bus from the next street which is just three minute’s walk away, and there’s one due in nine minutes. It takes four minutes longer, but it’ll still arrive several minutes before the tram which is now due in twenty-six minutes.
Walking there would take roughly forty-five minutes, jogging about thirty-nine minutes, or running, around twenty-eight minutes.
Actually, there’s a pub five minutes away that opens in four minutes. Let’s go there instead!

Thanks to Rochelle for hosting and providing the photo.
Prod the Frog to see what others have come up with!

An excellent decision
The answer to every problem!
Yahoo, the shortcut to the pub will mean you don’t get to your destination in time, if or maybe not. Have fun, you know; one for the road.
…and another for the track! Cheers, James.
I have been here and got tee shirt, tram Sunday at Fleetwood. Seasonal greetings to you
Thank you, Michael, It happens to the best of us!
Very good decision, he will certainly miss the next tram, too, but won’t mind so much when he calculates how long it takes to pour the next beer.
Apparently, it takes one minute and four seconds!
Now you need to calculate the cost of a tram ticket, bus ticket, and compare that to a stop at the pub. 😉
Right, here goes……
Yes, all that algebra/mathematics does make one consider a pint as well.
Nicely done, Keith, as always.
Indeed it does, Suzette!
There’s always an optimal solution if you just think about it
There certainly is, and I think I found it!
Thanks for the chuckle.
…and thanks to you for chuckling!
You may not make your appointment or original destination, but i do believe you will enjoy not making that appointment or destination!
I couldn’t put it better myself – I think!
Haha! Maybe it was the intent all along 😂
Sussed!
😂
LOL..I like this math!
I’m still recovering!
The pub is the best option in such cases…
What would we do without them? Cheers, Tannille.
Stay sober? What a sad idea. 😀
Dear Keith,
The numbers sent my head into a tailspin. All that calculation for a cold one? He must be very thirsty. 😉 Thanks for the chuckles.
Shalom,
Rochelle
Mine was in a tailspin just writing it! Cheers, Rochelle!
Good story! Happy New Year.
Thanks, Bear, and the same to you!
I just love how he ended up there.
Very logical, lol.
Wonderful story, Keith. You have unlocked the secret of the Universe using both math and impeccable logic. 🙂
The answer to everything! Cheers Bill.
tis
the pub wins. sounds like a good idea to me. 🙂
It usually does where I’m concerned!
Goodness! All that math would have worn me out!
Me too, Linda, it was never my stong point!
According to the math, the pub is clearly the answer! 💞
ha, ha Keith. Decision making…..Wishing you all the best and inspired writing, travels and photography for the coming year.
Our timely choices define us 🙂 Cheers!
By the way, is the name of the pub- “The Revenant”?
You can look for the clue about the keys! 🙂
Very interesting stories, Keith!
Indeed they do Anita! The pub in this tale isn’t The Revenant, unlike the one in my continuing story, fortunately!
Fun use of the photo prompt, Keith.
I went for ‘simple’ this week! I’m pleased you liked it.
Great use of the prompt…have one on me Happy New Year 🙂
Thanks, I will! Wishing you a great ’23!
I’ve been there. You definitely made a wise choice.
You’ve still got to reach your destination eventually – don’t turn up drunk!
Oh how I love your math. I can imagine someone who takes public transportation does those kinds of calculations all of the time. And of course the equation is perfectly balanced by the pub. Happy New Year Keith!
Sometimes the best and simplest path leads through the pub! Cheers!!
