Why do people do it?

I really don’t know, it’s so disrespectful.

Just look, someone’s left a plastic spoon on the ground.

Disgraceful, and over there, a cigarette end!

Shame on them. There’s even a bottle cap down there, unbelievable.

This table needs a bit of a clean too, look, some crumbs and there’s a coffee stain.

We’ve been here ages, where’s the waiter?

Doing his job, keeping us waiting!

Oh, very funny!

Are you sure this place is open?

Not sure.

Starbucks instead?

The local one’s a bit scruffy but at least we’ll get a coffee.

Come on then.

    Dear Keith,

As always your story is entertaining. Love the waiter’s job being to keep one waiting. Brilliant. 😀

    Shalom,

I had a great cup of tea this morning in a spotless cafe, no bottle tops or spoons on the floor at Zio’s

Perfect story for the scene. Over here the host gives children crayons and a paper sheet to scribble on until lunch is ready,. 🙂

A great idea, keep them occupied! There’s a place near me that uses white paper table covers and encourages people to leave messages and drawings!

Yes, the job of “waiting” a great pun Keith. And yet one wonders who benefits from the waiting.
Love the photo, for some reason it brings back good memories. Thanks

I suspect the waiter and owner may have deliberately wanted them to take their custom elsewhere! Good stuff

Love this, Keith and echo others’ appreciation of the waiters keeping everyone waiting. It’s like why doctors have patients/patience.
    Best wishes,
    Rowena

I chuckled while listening to this funny, but-not-really-funny exchange. Litterbugs are selfish and make the world just a little uglier wherever they leave their detritus.

I’d never thought bout the waiter’s job being to keep me waiting. That explains so much. Another fun one, Keith.

Even living on the street has its standards; a cigarette end – not enough for a last drag. Last Stop Cafe has a reputation to achieve, as for Starbucks they write and scribble unintelligible on the cups. I suddenly became Fred. Once I was jean and even a Chinese YU NE GUD. I still had to pay.

This made me smile. Thank you. What a wonderful tale of disappointment that is resolved by “What the heck! We’ll go somewhere else.” Well done. P.S. lovely to hear your voice.

Maybe they could have checked if it’s open a bit earlier, LOL. So funny and clever. And littering is indeed disrespectful and harmful.

Apart from esthetics (and value if it’s a grand house), they don’t really hurt anyone, do they. I actually like most of them, they bring boring walls to life.

They can be amazing, there are several excellent examples in my immediate area, but that bench didn’t impress me at all!

You’re right, they aren’t really nice. Sometimes it’s the message. I was fascinated by the word plunder sprayed behind the bench. I almost included it in my story, but it didn’t quite fit. 🙂

Litterers are the worst. I loved the exchange between the two protagonists. It was real, down to earth, and funny.

Pretty sure the place was closed… Or the waiter was in league with the nearby Starbucks.

You never fail to entertain! As for littering, I really don’t understand it. It’s your town, why would you want to disrespect it like that? A friend of mine went to Japan. There was not a but, a bottle cap; no graffiti. He asked someone how that could be and the response was: But it is ours, why would we sully what is ours? We could certainly learn a thing or two…
