for Six Sentence Stories where the given word is Harmony.

Very few of us are blessed with the ability to sing completely in tune.
Perfect pitch is a quality possessed by the chosen few, but most of us try to belt out a tune now and again whether it be in the pub on karaoke night or in the shower using the spray head as a mic.
There was a song doing the rounds many years ago by a band called the New Squeakers (or something like that) and in it, they said that they wanted to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony.
Best of luck with that, it’s a noble aspiration but sadly one which will probably never be achieved!
On that note or the closest note you can reach, let’s all sing a song together.
Now, where did I put my earplugs?
.

Thanks to Denise at GirlieOnTheEdge for hosting.
Haha. My sister and I were on a road trip and she kept “singing” in the car. I told her if she didn’t stop, I was dropping her on the side of the road. I have no idea how she ever got into her church choir.
Seems her tenacity paid off!
Oh Keith, now I’ve got an earworm of that song and of the corresponding Coke ad stuck in my head. 😡😂
Me too, I’m beginning to wish I hadn’t mentioned it now!
Guilty here!!
Don’t worry, you’re in good company!
Yes, that noble aspiration is sadly out of tune with reality. We have too many self-interests to join in someone else’s song.
Had a discussion lately with a door-to-door (nowadays phone to phone) religious lady who thinks the earth itself is fine; it’s people who make this world awful. I reminded her that mice squeak in terror when the cat appears and rabbits squeal in the talons of a hawk; deer flee at the appearance of a cougar or wolf; sparrows cheep in terror when a kestrel flies over. Even weather patterns aren’t always in tune with the needs of the earth below. We may work on the worst, live with what we can’t change, but we can’t bring this old world to perfect harmony.
I’m pleased you challenged her claim in such a positive way. People do awful things, always have and always will, but there are far more things that influence our planet in a negative way, things we have no control over.
I like those earplugs at the end and the name of the band.
Essential supplies! Cheers, Frank.
Haha! Who said that amateur singers have to sing in tune? 🤣
Absolutely, music’s for all of us!
😂
Brilliant, love it! I can’t sing to save my soul–but since I live alone, I just go for it! 🙂
Good for you, Zelda!
😊
Oh, what calumny! Keith Potger will be shaking his 81-year-old fist at you! Fun six (except for that bit.)
Haha, I wasn’t sure if he was still around to read it!
You have my word i’ll lip sync!
I’ll hold you to that Mimi!
Haha! I will sing my best! Great six Keith! I enjoyed it!
Looking forward to hearing you – I think!
I’m average at best, but I do try 😀
Your Six is music to my ears, Keith 😁 (was getting ready to send out the cavalry if you hadn’t linked this week!)
Can’t lay claim to being a good vocalist but I can pretty much carry a tune. Venue of choice? The car of course, sans passengers!
As soon as you said it – the earworm of which Chris speaks….in my head now too, lol
Hi Denise, I’ve been enjoying some family time, first in Scotland, then in Dubai, but normal service has now been resumed!
All together now – I’d like to see the world for once, all standing hand in hand. And hear them echo through the hills for peace throughout the land!
Haha… good one!
Thanks so much!
I fear my vocal contribution would cause another civil war! Loved your story Keith – adorable and welcome back!
Goodness me, that would never do! Thanks so much.
I love this. Mostly because I am pretty much tone deaf. By definition the person you would have to put ear plugs in for!
Almost all of my commenters admit to being tone-deaf – perhaps we should form The Tuneless Choir!
To get all Jeopardy on this Comment,
Answer: Not in a five gallon bucket (with plastic grips on the handle)
Question: Can I carry a tune?
Fun Six
Oh dear, you too? The world doesn’t stand a chance!
I will do what my family has done for generations, and heartily mouth the words without uttering a sound!
Why can’t the world sing in harmony though?
It would be good.
Great six, Keith.
Confession time, I can sing in tune! Growing up, my daughter was forever feeling embarrassed when I sang along in harmony at every chance, often drowning others out!
All together now – please?

New Squeekers…LOL!
Now where’s my bottle of cola?
Got my chuckle for the evening…thanks!
What more could I ask for? Thanks, Liz.
Fun six!
