As I gaze into your eyes, my heart flutters. As I stroke your hand, you smile. We raise our glasses, touch them gently but utter not a word, no need. I hand you a red rose, a symbol of our love …..
‘Oy, wake up, you lazy devil. Look you’ve spilt beer in your lap, you’ve knocked over my flowers and you’re dribbling like a two-year-old.
Now get your fat ass into the kitchen, you’ve got the washing up to do, and when you’ve done that you can get me a cup of tea and don’t forget my hot water bottle!
My eyes start to close my eyes and I drift away. I feel a prod. Okay, I’m going!
