“Hold tight boys ‘n gals” yelled Gerry the merry-go-round man, “away we go!”
The giggling kids bobbed up and down, spun round and round.
“Life is a carousel old chum,” sang his lackey, Mickey.
“Please don’t start warblin’ again!”
“Well, I’ve been finkin’.”
“You, finkin’?” chuckled Gerry.
“Yea, I do sometimes. Wifey says I’m quite philosiph… philosuph… phuloph…‘
“You’re full of somefin’, that’s for sure!”
The merry-go-round stopped, the kids leapt off.
”Atcherly, you’re right”, said Gerry, “life’s a roller-coaster too, an’ a shootin’ gallery sometimes.”
“Now who’s being philosiph… philosuph… savvy?” laughed Mickey!
“It’s the circle of life” they belted out together!

Those guys must be quite a hoot together
There’s no doubt about it Larry! Cheers.
The circle of life never ceases to fascinate.
Very true, and far preferable to a spiral of life. Thanks, Reena.
I like the analogy.
Deep thinkers, despite the pronounciation difficulties
If they’d been around in Rodin’s time, they’d have been the inspiration behind his sculpture!
This is such a a fun story.
It was certainly fun to write! Thanks, Sadje.
You’re welcome
I can imagine them in a pub!
That was in my mind as I wrote about them! Your round Gerry!

That’s so nice of you to say so Ain, thank you.
This is wonderful, Keith. I love the accents and the struggle for the right word was fun. Well done.
That could almost be me, I often get in a muddle with long words! Cheers, Mason.
Haha! Me too. Cheers, Keith.
Sounds like a bit o’ the bottled fairy water might be hidden away. Well done, Keith.
You could be right Bill! Thank you.
Of course, Keith.
Keith,
They’re having as much fun than the kids, maybe even more! Enjoyed your “philosiph… philosuph… phuloph…” take on the prompt. :>)
pax,
dora
They are, good for them! I’m delighted you enjoyed it Dora, thank you.
My pleasure!
As others noted, well written, and so enjoyable, slipping into the voices – you certainly bring these characters to life, a vignette amuse-bouche to just give us a lovely break. Cheers 😀
Creating characters is such fun. Thank you so much for your charming comment.
So philo-savvy!
Yes, circle & cycle of life.
Makes sense to enjoy the moment!
Hey, that’s a nice word, and yes it does! Thanks, Anita.
And there’s so much to see and do!
That’s life, Mimi!
I’m no philosipher… philosupher… phulopher, but I’m all buckled up for a trip to Disneyland . . . Or did I pick the wrong Mickey?
Mickey’s no mouse, that’s for sure! Enjoy your trip though!
Dear Keif,
I’m finking Mickey and Gerry is bof going in circles. Good one, Mate.

Rochelle
Oh dear, I fink it’s catching! You’re right though, Chum!
Thanks, Rochelle.
I like how you brightened the picture, both with photo editing and with your dialogue. Good stuff, Keith!
Thanks, Lisa, I do sometimes feel guilty when I retouch others’ photos! Anyhow, I’m pleased you enjoyed my effort, thank you.
You’re welcome and I think manipulation of the photo is ok for the prompt. I turned one on its side or upside down for a story before.
So good, Keith!
Thanks so much, Trish.
Just Lovely,
Glad you liked it, Michael, thank you.
Idiots shouldn’t operate heavy machinery, it might turn into a shooting gallery. Well written, K.
Absolutely so Tannille! Cheers.

Phuggetaboutit… They can’t say it sober, don’t even try sauced…. then again, it might just flow outta them!

They make a right pair!
They certainly do! Cheers Ali.
I like the multiple ways life is like a fairground. Fluently written and entertaining, Keith.
That’s really nice of you Penny, thank you.
Wonderful dialogue and registrar.
Thanks so much Susan.
Dialogue nicely put together there.
It’s kind of you to say so, thanks, Sandra.
Great use of dialogue there, Keith. Could picture these guys. Well done.
Thanks, Rowena, I didn’t know if it was going to be easily readable, but it seems it is!
What a fun story! There’s a wonderful lyrical feel to your stories, Keith. Also, just read your travel series on South India. The pictures are so lovely and resonate well as I am from that place. Looking forward to read your other travel stories as well.
Thanks so much for your lovely comment Neel, it makes it all worthwhile!
I’ve enjoyed five trips to different parts of India, but the South is where I hope to visit again one day!
Philosophical!!! What a fun story that made me grin and feel like I was along on the ride with them.
