for Wordless Wednesday on a Tuesday and others..
Two weeks ago you joined me at a stately home. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to show you the interior because no photography was allowed.
Recently I visited another, and this time there was no such ban! The lighting was dim, and I wasn’t permitted to use flash, so they are not the best, but I thought I’d show a you few of the many rooms anyway!

Now, where’s the door?

In we go! This is the library …

Drawing room …

Something room …

Dining room …

Music room …

Fancy a nap? Bedroom …

Hallway …

Can’t remember …

There’s the garden. Lets go outside!

Careful down the steps …

Woodland …

Japanese garden …

Formal garden …

Kitchen garden …

Looks like rain …

That’s it! I hope you enjoyed our visit.
.
A palatial home. Looks a lot like the one they used in Downton Abby.

That is Highclere Castle, not that far from the house in my pictures. Cheers, Sadje

She did – ‘keep up Richard’! Right now I’m addicted to your AGT and the latest series of Law and Order SVU, a bit different from Ackley Bridge!

It’s beautiful, i’d be scared to live in a place that fancy. Knowing me, i’d break something.

I’m so happy that photos were allowed in this place. What magnificence. I’m trying to imagine what a contrast this house would be to a typical shelter of the time in which it was built. I would feel like royalty if I lived there.

An interesting thought. It was built in the 1660s when it was very much ‘them and us’.

What a great old mansion and estate! I particularly like the gardens, so much interest and curiosity there.
I admire the interior of the mansion, too – it’s not my individual taste, but definitely a lot to explore and be intrigued by.

Nor mine, I’m more of an IKEA kinda guy! Fascinating to see how the wealthy lived back then though.
