Randy Sorhol is an imaginative artist who sees beauty in ugliness and drama in dullness, but somehow his work doesn’t receive the admiration he feels it deserves.

He created a picture from old eggshells called Only Yolking but it absolutely stank!

He smashed a teapot and produced a piece called Shattered. His wife was shattered too, it once belonged to her great-grandmother!

Some discarded engine parts became an enormous wall hanging called Exhausted.  Some old shoes, Soleful and pile of fishbones, Spineless.

He’s having an exhibition of blank canvasses called A Void. Probably not the best title to attract visitors!

      They must be related! I followed the link then delved into Google Images and was so pleased I did, his work is stupidly wonderful if that makes sense!

    Well punned! Randy has a rare talent for titling his pieces. He could get a job in advertising, a great outlet for such creativity.

    The Void may be a hit. A museum in a large CA city had a large purple (just a pale purple) square canvas called “Love in Italy.” That was it, just a pale purple square, rather shiny like a piece of glossy vinyl. At least the title The Void makes sense.

      That could be where Randy got his idea from! The Void was a far more sensible title than his A Void!

    Aah I so remember people from the Avant Garde days of the beat generation…Willoughby Cleary, Alben Shinberg, Mack Pellefac. They were all the rage in Greenwich Village back in my young un days

    He’s lucky his skull wasn’t shattered like an eggshell when he rearranged the shape of the antique teapot. My favorite is the engine parts called Exhausted. Clever post, Keith.

    This was brilliant. Mind you if the artist preservers he’ll get one of his creations displayed in the Tate gallery. The sandpit and bucket_’drought’.

    I love this, too funny. The titles alone are works of art. Only sorry for his wife losing her keepsake.
