Enjoy the break. Brockenhurst? Lydnhurst? Bransgore? Burley? Burley do the best ice cream for miles and would recommend their Magpie’s Nest cone.
Say a fond hello to our tree if you come across it. Drive safe.
In the High Street, there used to be a traditional butcher and his venison sausages were quite tasty! The ice cream in Burley is a sugar cone, a huge swirl of Mr Whippy ice cream and the toppings of your choice. The lady used to give you a napkin and a spoon as it would stand about 10 inches high. We’d go there quite often and she would do a small standard cone for the dog (we had to pay of course) but she found it amusing the way he’d gently lick it.
Have fun. Haven’t camped in a tent since my days as a Boy Scout leader.

My camping gear lives in my car so I can take off whenever and wherever the mood takes me! I love it. Thanks Denise.

“New Forest” as in circa 1300? Hope you get a few warm, dry days to enjoy your back-to-nature gig.

It’s the New Forest in Hampshire, in Southern England, a beautiful national park. Thanks so much Christine.

The nearest town, Lyndhurst! I’ll look out for the ice cream – and your tree! Thanks, Di.

That sound fantastic. Unfortunately I didn’t have time to seek it out as I had a few National Trust sites to visit, but there’s always next time!
