for Sammi’s Weekend Writing Prompt where the given word is hinterland and the limit 87 words.
‘Where are you going?’ asked my friend Rosey.
‘On holiday’.
‘Yea, but where?’
‘To the hinterland’, I articulated pointing into the distance.
‘Wow, really?’
‘Err, yes!’
‘Are you flying?’
‘No’, I laughed
‘Ferry?’
‘Of course not’!
‘What language do they speak?’
‘Why, English pet’, I said in a dodgy northern accent!
‘What’s their food like?’
‘Very funny!’ I said. ‘I’d love to chat but I need to finish packing’.
It was when she reminded me to take my passport I realised she hadn’t been joking at all!
There are masses more stories about My Friend Rosey right here!
Haha, good for our dear friend, Rosey. Great take on the prompt, Keith. 😀

Heeheehee! Maybe next time take her on the exotic adventure, let her find out the joys of the hinterland for herself.

Dear Keith,
It’s always fun to see Rosey. These days you need your passport to go anywhere. 😉 Never leave home without it.
Shalom,
Rochelle

She’s never far away Rochelle! Right now my passport’s feeling a little neglected having not been stamped abroad this year!

I think, Keith, that Rosey believes a thesaurus can be found in Jurassic Park.
And I love your Geordie accent!

I’ll try that out on her! I originally wrote ‘Why, Geordie pet’ but it occurred to me that readers of a foreign persuasion might take that to be an actual language!

Whereas it is, to most of the civilised world, utterly unintelligible gibberish!

Haha… Nice one. In India we need an ID to cross states nowadays. Maybe Rosie meant it in that context.

Really, I didn’t know that. Maybe she did, but I suspect she thinks it a country overseas!

A well played prompt response once again, Keith. A passport to hinterland. Enjoyed it.

Rosey IS technically correct. You go far enough into the Hinderland and you’ll have people speaking Hinderglish.

You could be right Na’ama – if you go to Gibber, people talk Gibberish!

Is Hinterland next to Wonderland?
Love when Rosey stops by.

Quite possibly Dale! Rosey would stop by more often if I’d let her!

I don’t doubt she would!
