A proud man.
He stands in the street
seemingly oblivious
to the chill November breeze.
On his head,
his regimental beret.
On his chest,
a row of brightly polished medals.
From a strap
around his neck,
hangs a tray
of blood-red paper poppies.
A proud man,
doing what he can
to remind us today
of those who died so we’d be free.

A lovely reminder.
Thank you Sadje
You’re welcome 😉
That’s lovely.
Thanks Sally
A lovely tribute! 💖 Poppies are an important part of Remembrance Day observations here in Canada, as well. Gratitude abounds!
Thank you Debbie
My heart is full of gratitude to all who served, and are serving.
As is mine. Thanks Mimi.
Whoa moocho bad timing, considering that it was so soon after a shooting
Not the best that’s for sure! Cheers Larry.
