Alarm clock rings
Hop out of bed
Leap in the shower
Drag on some clothes
Coffee too hot
Scald my mouth
Burn the toast
Trip over the cat
Make a sandwich
Stick in a tub
Pop on a lid
Put in my bag
Run to the station
Squeeze on the train
Rush to the office
Stare at a screen
Nip to the park
Swallow my lunch
Back to work
Start over again
Time to go home
Stand on the train
Pushed and jostled
Get off again
Rush in the door
Pour a large drink
Collapse on the couch
Take
a deep
breath
Re…lax.

Thanks to Rochelle for hosting and to Fatima Fakier Fiction for the photo.
rods the frogs to join in the fun.

The day in a nutshell.
For some I’m sure! Thanks Sadje.
You’re welcome 😉
Dear Keith,
I’m out of breath after reading that. Pour me a glass, will you? Well done.
Shalom,
Rochelle
Coming up Rochelle!
I feel tired!!!! 🙂
Me too! Cheers Di.
🙂
Now that’s a workout!
Cheaper than going to the gym! Thanks Neil.
I didn’t know you had been following my life… Wonderfully written.
Can”t say I envy you then Iain!
LOL! This took me on a ride … made me tired just to read it … 😉 Now … deep breath …
Oh, wait my work day still awaits … 😉
If that’s like your day I don’t envy you! Thanks Na’ama
Thankfully my day isn’t quite that way (anymore … though there were times it used to be … and I don’t miss them …) 😉
Deep breaths, indeed.
Not a schedule I want to keep again…
Nor me! Cheers Dale.
Wow – that left me breathless. Clever take on the photo prompt, Keith.

Sorry about that! Thanks so much Susan
That was exhausting just reading it! Ugh, what a day. Great write!
I had to lie down after writing it! Cheers Bear.
hehe! Silly old man! Loved it!
Well, except for the train, and that i am a janitor not a desk jockey, it sounds a lot like my days!
At least you get too tired to write on your amazing blog!
Your excellent poetry made me VERY glad to be out of the rat race 🙂
It was a retrospective piece for me too Linda! Thank you.
And so it goes, shit isn’t it?!!
Too right!
Man, you gotta learn to chill!
Don’t worry, I have! Cheers CE
That’s brilliant, I can certainly relate to that in my younger working days.
Me too and I don’t miss it a bit! Thanks, Sally.
You summed up the day quite well. I was wondering what happened in the spaces between the lines. The impact is deadlier than that of a routine.
Not sure I know! Thanks so much Reena
🙂
The Great Race, rinse and repeat. I was breathless reading this.
Tracey
I seemed to have caused a lot of breathlessness this week! Thanks Tracey
Ground Hog Day! 😀
Absolutely! Cheers Tannille.
And… that’s life! Nice one, and as always I love the frogs 🙂
Thanks so much draliman.
The hectic routines of modern life that we get sucked into. I’m out of breath just reading that!
That was my daily routine when I worked in London – then I got a job in the countryside!
You must be fit, with all that rushing around. Somedays are like that a bit of a groundhog day. Keep smiling.
I think the short line poetry fits the urgency and shortness of breath, loved it.
I probably was back then! I rarely enter the world of poetry so I’m relieved it had the desired effect. Thanks so much, James.
Exhausting! At least the frog has a glass of wine. Good take on the photo prompt Keith.
Thanks so much GiN!
Nicely done.
But I think your character needs to spend some time with my big-kid, comic-book guy. ;0)
Sounds like a great idea, I’ll suggest it!
Funny.
A day in the life … !!! Work and all that comes with it.
Quite descriptive. I’ll have a Pinot Grigio, please. ~~~ : – )
Isadora 😎
…coming up!
And repeat again… the treadmill of work
The never ending circle of life – for some! Cheers Björn
The rat race has never sounded so catchy! A fun take on the prompt.
Thanks so much
Just to do it all over again tomorrow.
Afraid so! Thanks, Nobbin
